Pseudoty
I guess what people see in this video will depend on how they view the entire situation but this is today Monday in Shanghai around 500 miles from Wuhan. For context you have to know what this area normally looks like. Around 2 weeks ago all factories were ordered to turn back on their electric and have production line machines running even without production to produce emissions and give the illusion that things were back to normal. I couldn’t find any videos like this out of Wuhan as all of the youtubers from there I was following are long gone. I did see an article on cellphone tower usage which is down 80% for the city. Some businesses have the ability to adapt while others will fail due to the circumstances. People will then lose jobs. Point me to where Darwin talks about surviving under draconian government orders. Honestly, I’m not here to convince you anything. you don’t need to agree with me, just need to look at history for proof. Your bolded statement is almost the definition of survival. Darwin would be proud if you. We will recover from this.

As much as China may want to show the world they beat the virus, they don't want Japan having center-stage, either. On the other hand, this would also show China as benevolent benefactor who helps its worst enemy in a time of needs. China has better writers than Hollywood. Pretty sure they can spin this situation to their benefit

I really have no idea, but the whole factory thing seems a little conspiracy theory'ish. I also have no idea about the video above, but I have no doubt that people in China will avoid being out in large numbers for quite a while.
elmaslıefendi
Offtopic, not related to anyone, but the word conspiracy theory needs to be redefined. It's used left & right in this thread. Nowadays e v e r y t h i n g seems to be a 'whack' conspiracy theory somehow. If someone sees a blue flower and says it's blue, a random self-approved expert/pseudo-rational idiot that has done zero research will immediately step in and say it's a red flower, followed by an insult. If you ask him if he has a problem with his eyes or if he hit his head really badly he'll say he didn't even have to look at the flower to know the colour of the flower, his honest government & its reliable media already verified to him that the flower was red. People put reptilianist flat earthers in the same category as 9/11-critics. This is everything but logical. For example: The WHO is not a government organization, it's owned to 70% by several private foundations representing the interests of the pharma lobby. This is official, the information is easily accessible & there will still be idiots defending these criminals and putting off numbers & facts as a conspiracy theory. For what? Alpinemaps
I can not help myself but it seems like US gov stil "does not get it".. ! .. with your population, general healtcare dispositions, a total TROLL as a head of the state.. .. you are all freaked out of Italy scenario but that is where you are heading if your gov does not take truly drastic measures, such as: a) total federal quarantine only medicine and groceries purchases allowed (+ preferably only by a SINGLE dedicated family member) c) postal offices and tank stations operational d) totally STRICT penalties for anyone who does not wear some mouth/nose protection in the public e) .. since you have such a large population perhaps even a curfew such as after 9 pm NO PUBLIC apperance whatsover we took most of these precautions and our average daily exposure rate after cca 22 days is only in general around 5 % percent (1000 positive in 22 days} with an outlook to release the strict rules in about 10-14 days. I’m going to put aside that you’re breaking my rule about calling politicians names for a moment If you are going to comment on how the political system works in the United States, then you really need to educate yourself on it, or otherwise stop posting. You clearly do not understand why what you are saying we need to do does not work like that here.

Respectfully, because I am a guest in your home...But, I think it is more accurate to say that the President ignored the potential crisis, because he is way out of his league, and he didn't see the political upside to spending time on it. Additionally, it has been reported that he saw focusing on testing as a political liability. I don't see any way to be aware of the facts of the disease timeline, AND the President's laughably inaccurate, magical thinking statements during that timeline, and not come to the conclusion that the Administration badly mismanaged this crisis, namely with regard to early testing, and that because of that significantly more people will die. I take no offense. I am a fan of the United States of America. Whether it is Trump or Obama or Bush or Clinton, the president of the USA has a tough job and I will try to support them. I don't always agree with prior presidents or Trump's policies, but Trump needs some support right now. He is trying to be positive. How can I fault him for that? Blaming him for testing and other government shortfalls is a waste of time. He is a tool at times, but the media relentlessly attacks him and tries to make him look bad. Obama handled some issues wrong and the media left it alone. Difference is, he had a charm and swagger that gave people confidence. Trump is all over the place at times and rambles on, but one cannot argue the economy wasn't humming before this happened. Nobody saw this coming. Even NY Governor Cuomo turned down the chance in 2016 to buy thousands of ventilators. I am not blaming him for that. This thread will not turn into a political one. We all have enough issues to deal with and people need to just get along and support one another. 1

To me it just doesn't come off as educated and you can tell when he is reading from a script. Its hard to see Dr Fauci painfully grimace at what he believes are mis-spoken facts by The President. However, he is giving the president support as all Americans should do. I really don't even know where to look for any real media news anymore. I'll look at CNN, quickly look at headlines, then go to Fox and do the same. Its where I see overlap in their headlines that I know must be important news. It just stinks that because of the way media outlets make their money, it's hard to find honest opinions. It takes time to research and build your own knowledge base. But that is exactly the thing that a lot of Americans are just not simply willing to do. Ive said it before, as with others, this is something that goes beyond borders, ethnicities, and affiliations. I know I don't care for President Trump, but he is our leader at this time.

I guess we are screwed as a nation because Joe Biden can't put a sentence together either, so our choice in November will be two mumbling and bumbling old men. Maybe we need to elect presidents in the 50s and early 60s. All the news media is biased one way or another. You just have to assume the truth is somewhere between FOX and CNN/MSNBC.
Popular Post JOEBRICK376
Steering this back to what I tried before.... I was able to secure about 4000 masks from a fulfillment vendor to donate to a local hospital chain. That will give them about an additional 1-2 days of supply. Not a lot but every day matters until we can get our production levels increased. Considering we are all experts in arbitrage/unusual sourcing methods anyone else got any sources? 9

Sometimes I cringe when he speaks and just shake my head cause I know how what he says will be taken. I just tend to believe it's because he's not a career politician so he's just not used to having everything he says so closely scrutinized. You can tell most politicians just says what they know people want to hear whether it's what they are thinking or not where Trump just speaks his mind. That being said I am still a supporter of his and 99% of his policies which is why he was elected in the first place, not for how he spoke. The amount of constant battering and ridicule he's received is pathetic. I have never seen anything like it at any level and yet he has never faultered which, like him or not, should be admired.
