And now this, oh “Just the Flu, Bro”

One of the most difficult things with this virus is the time it takes to show symptoms.  Every business is under the gun when an employee gets sick.  The whole business shuts down for two weeks.  I think this is what is happening here.

Speaking on of businesses , I’m still laughing at Game Stop for classifying themselves as an essential business when  they are clearly trying to maximize on the increased demand on video games .

also , stores should ban returns on health/household related items once this  over .

Anyway I guess being right at the wrong time is the same as being wrong.

well Gallileo was under house arrest till he died...so you're in good company...of sorts.

The best team is someone that has key information with a marketing guy...

like in Stranger Things...the paranoid conspiracy guy told the young couple that is didn't matter they were right about monsters taking over their town...the general public cannot accept such information...if the goal is to evacuate; change the message into the government is hiding secret testing that is releasing toxic gas...keep the goal in mind and not trying to "be right"

Yes to this x1 trillion

risk and reward...let's no forget the "risk part".  I'm going to repeat this again...the shortage of TP will affect anyone reliant on a public sewer system...it really does not take much to completely freeze a whole block...our business center (about a quarter size of a block) sewer system was down after 1 feakin tampon clogged the line (basically one small thing gets tons of hairs stuck to it to become the monster of the black lagoon).  It will depend on how old the pipes are, but seriously, it will not take much at all to pretty much shut down an entire city if a handfull of folks are flushing Bounty

Costco already has.  No returns on paper products, water or some foods.

I think we all understand the flattening of the curve and are willing to sacrifice to help with that.  The problem I see is how long do you wait and destroy the economy and people's lives to flatten the curve, especially if you don't see millions dying from this like some people predict.  Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

Well said.  Like I said earlier this isn't any worse then some other pandemics and flu's we've seen yet for some reason we think we need to go all psychotic and stop the world because of it.

At some point, the stress from lack of job/money and hanging with family will cause depression and heart attacks.  I also think parents will start beating kids in their "home school."  I know my wife is about done after a week.  📚

That and deaths from drinking, drugs and spousal murders are going to skyrocket.

KC metro area looking at a Shelter in place order beginning Tuesday.

Several R1 universities who’ve moved to fully online are resuming Monday with Pass/Fail grading.

Tomorrow or Monday we are likely to see Italy hit north of 1000 deaths per day.

Just passing on info.

Ed Mack said it right but the issue (also over here in EU) is that nobody (in the Gov) wants to get their hands dirty by e.g. allowing the stores to remain open - even while the scientific survey and research so far shows that generally "not more than 5 of 100" could die from the exposure. you all know the hatred between the parties. its just re-occuring self-inflected wound that we have no chance to escape for a while

BUT what I miss is newspapers giving more room for the realistic and optimistic views. So the stock markets at the end of 2020 are down by cca 15 prct, the GDP for 2020 is down by 5 prct.. .. but these values just match the results for e.g. 2017! So we are just somehow settling on that level. That tis what should be published and pushed. Everybody knows that 2017 life wasnt anything hard.  And oh yeah.. I would probably at this time totally ban robotic trading on the stock markets. They just make the situation worse.

America is just at the beginning. The results of what you do today you will see in 2-3 weeks. The mortality Rate in Italy is climbing up near to 10% of the infected not 10% of the whole Population...BUT, if 60-70% will get this infection...you do the math. The healthcare System in USA is (like most others in the World) not made for a pandemic. Countries like Germany, USA and others have to take it serious and Italy as a warning example! Yesterday 400 People died in one day.

Nice.. now I know why your folks in Bavoria make a fun of it, refuse to wear anything over their mouth and generally sit around at the sidewalks drinking beer.. nice touch!  You have over 20.000 infected and you will get at least 500.00 with this approach. Your IMBECILE ppl in Bavaria led the local government into declaring house quarantine.
