Yeah I heard the smaller the state less to worry about where do we find these people. Climate change a hoax too what Fox News told me must be true

Population density does have an effect on spread look at Wuhan with over 11 Million residents (allegedly 5 Million we’re away for New Years)  the wealthy are fleeing NYC to beach rentals that normally go for $4 K/month off season are up to $18K/month

Here is the study that got the UK to totally change their approach on how to attempt to manage this virus

Worrying doesn't add a day to my life, just takes them away.  I have always been germ conscious and done just fine, when life is always frought with things that can cause me harm.  I just don't think it is very genuine to move the goal posts.  If I was ignorant and didn't  know the previous information I would be duped to believe what they are telling me with the new number.

i sure hope you're not letting that perspective bias your clients advice.

what if paternalistic Vater Drumpf has been holding back the actual numbers of infection from the public to avoid panic? i agree that gov't information is suspect but I am more concerned that they are playing this down so we don't know how serious it is and have shootouts in the toilet paper aisle.

you are in the financials - do the virus numbers and plot them on a graph.

stock markets will continue to undergo "price discovery" as we are nowhere near where this story starts to get ugly.

check out STWD reit  - all time low - down 31% today alone!!! - this is a bedrock stock of retirees who rely on the stocks low beta and typically generous 8-9% dividend which is now precipitous at 19.9% yield. lol.

maybe 20% of the population is losing sleep over this, waking up , checking their phones in the middle of the night.

what you think the s&p gonna be when 60% of people are waking up checking their phones at 3 am ?

like i said , we are no where near the part of this story where it gets ugly and gets 100% of the adult populations' scared-a$$ attention.

the people who got rich in 1929 were those who had cash.  i bowed out once my assets took a 20% hit.  smartest investment move of my life as there is no talking -BS'ing our way out of this unprecedented crisis, even if there is some slight chance it might not be as bad since we are scurrying sort of now, doesn't matter, psychology is in effect and the worst is still in front of us.  us stock markets will be shut down by the end of the week to save us from ourselves.

Go where? My money is tied to my 401K as I am no good at playing/timing individual stocks :drag: I assume most people do too

he had me right upto @2:00 min mark when everything turned to his opinion.  his personally opinion is clearly military biased which isn't a negative, but also highly based on fear.  From your posting history, you seem to gravitate towards this type of information.

Of course things will get better. Each state will have their own response curves. Fortunately in this day and age, people should be able to get ahead of the curve and not rely on their government to stay home.  They should have enough info on their fingertips, but there is so much crap to filter through on the webs, people who only get information on the web tend to be ill-informed in their own way on a grand scale . That video did touch on a few of good points, especially about being prepared, but too much fear for me. Could you imagine being a fly on the wall in any of the dooms day prepper forums?  I digress, but their servers are probably on fire!

A true informative video should include more facts other than 'Hey, guess what?! People learn from history!'  We are definitely exhibiting slow learning in todays society. Sure we will act differently after the outcome, but how quickly can you learn adapt NOW?! Not down the road.  We should be asking ourselves, what are the road blocks occurring today that inhibit our response time. From historical data readily available, not only from centuries ago, but also any analytical data available of this current Pandemic in Asia and Europe models show the same thing. Quarantining is the most effect at this stage in the game.   If you have  a hard time finding some basic statistics, the JHU website seems to be the only one that has been able to handle all the traffic. It has been online since  01/20/20.  As others have stated, some country's data cant be trusted, and in reality all numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. But you can only work with what you have, and this website definitely provides enough data for predictions, models, spread time. Which is all known.  This allows one to gain some insight to the UNKNOWN cases.

And there it is. Kansas closes all of its public schools for the remainder of the year. This is brutal and going to last until at least June.

Anyone find any info on what PREVENTS infection?

That's from a description from the Princess Cruise ship that was a "worse case" scenario for those aboard, but even sharing a tiny crew cabin with 5 infected persons for a long duration, 3 crew members did not get sick.  HOW?

Same reason why it has been discovered some humans are resistant to types of Cancer.  Genetically, they have proteins arranged in away that allows them to not even present themselves as a landing pad (no bonding site) to the foreign antigen, so to speak.  You are talking about highly controversial and early in development treatment. Its a great idea, but lots of great minds need to come together to make this a routine treatment option even in 10 yrs from now, let alone our lifetime.

If young enough, it will rebound always does.  If older is when it gets scary.

commercial paper is about to be in a crisis probably. pull the cash, wait a bit until commercial properties are selling for a 40-60% discount, buy some and sit on them :)

Which is why this whole thing is absolutely retarded.  Quarantine, test, treat, whatever the target group of individuals.  Let the world go about it's business without destroying economies and lives.  The knee jerk reactions to shut everything down and cause panic is absolutely pointless.  Ruining kids lives and taking away functions and sports that they've busted their butts for is stupid.

Anyone over 55-60 or with serious medical conditions should be the ones quarantined and kept safe.  Let the rest of us take care of things that are at low or no risk and let it run it's course.  I've pretty much decided to stay out of this thread just due to the overwhelming amount of "Chicken Little" mentality and finger pointing.  That and we're too  busy making money and shaking my head at the panic.

Currently a 5 day backlog on firearm background checks here in Colorado. Mine was just cleared today after a three day wait. No common ammo anywhere. Crazy times.

Yeah, sales of guns/ammo are crazy.  Luckily I'm well stocked on that front too😁

This is crazy.  I guess people want their guns to protect from the roving hordes of grocery thieves and toilet paper zombies.  It's panic buying in my opinion.

I don't entirely understand why Walmart is closing at 11 p.m. now. To clean and stock? Weren't they doing that before when they were open 24 hours? Won't there be more shoppers crammed into a shorter time frame now, resulting in the opposite of social distancing?

I'm just pissed because this is disrupting my zen-like experiences of going to Walmart after midnight when there is almost no cars on the road and just a handful of people in the store.

The "social distancing" thing is also a joke.  They are closing down restaurants, bars and schools, yet packing 5000 people into the toilet paper isle in Walmart and Costco is a-ok🤣

To be brutally honest, if I lived in America, I wouldn't leave the house unarmed in this situation. Even if there is no threat, the people creating a threat & randomly pulling their guns at each other is the problem. Eventually some will go nuts for no reason.

Yeah, cause that's what most gun owners are like is just randomly pulling their guns🙄

To be brutally honest, I don't think you know what you're talking about. I am now in my 9th year of living in the States, and I have yet to see anyone carry a gun anywhere (except for law enforcement officers). Typical outsider perspective, just like all Europeans are commies.

These will be times that are new for all of us. No country has faced such a global crisis in the past 60 years. In this case armed people will eventually go nuts, which is only natural in a hostile situation. Just my opinion. Let's wait a few months and see what happens. It's no where near the peak right now.

Why is it so difficult to do social distancing? Just skip showers during self quarantine.  Problem solved :drag:
