Darth_Raichu Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Yep, the 18+ sign on the box is going to turn off some buyers Quote
MotorCityMuscle Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Wasn’t the original size much larger? This should have been a modular. and yes, why no Count or Grover? Quote

Reduce size of set to make it more palatable as a toy for kids purchase, but then slap 18+ on the box? Really think they should have gone full-on modular. 4 Quote

Sauromosis Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 This looks like one of those sets I'd never stock up on to resell and then Lego short stocks it and it triples in value. 1 Quote
Alpinemaps Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 There’s the inside corner modular everyone wanted? 2 Quote
Belac Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 When a company dabbles in nostalgic subject matter there will undoubtedly be some feedback. Like Grover over Elmo all day, And like to see some fur printing on Cookie. Sets ok, The ideas submission was modeled after a toy some of us had but this works to get the essence across. and as mentioned 18+ is off and black box... meh. I'm not loading up much on Ideas sets until more is known about LEGO's intentions on rerelease anyway. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/123-sesame-street-21324 Their FB promo video is doubling down on nostalgia with the 80s TV effects. 1 Quote
Popular Post keymomachine Posted October 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 22, 2020 What monster over at Lego allowed this set to be number #21324? IT SHOULD BE 21234!!! This explains why the Count isn't in the set, he probably stormed off! 3 1 6 Quote
MrToes16 Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 And why does this thumbnail on the Lego site make it look like Elmo is about to get...ruffled? 3 Quote
brickvoyeur Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 I'm really impressed by the brick built Snuffleupagus. More impressed that they found a way to make it where you need to look through the Big Bird figures eyes to see him. 1 Quote

BricksBrotha Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Feels like a lot of new molds were created for the minifigs. I thought no new molds for ideas sets? Lego sure does likes to set their own rules, just to break them in the future. I would add to the sentiment, it definitely should have been a modular. Will be picking up on discount for the figs. Easily would have been a day 1 purchase had it been modular. Quote

Mark Twain Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 18+ is actually the only way to market this, I think. Too many parent would buy this for their 4-6 year old kids and complain about how it is too difficult to build. Older kids don’t care, so that leaves the nostalgia crowd 18+.It will be interesting to see if we get a 4+ series down the road for kids and that’s why they’ve kept the molds. Quote

That's the annoyance for me, personally. Quote
t_mafia Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 I like it. For some reason I thought there were rumors that this set would be $400 (iirc the original submission was much bigger). I don't have a $400 passion for sesame street but I might do $120. But I can see why others might be disappointed 2 Quote

I'll take a shot at it once it goes on sale. 2 Quote

TheOrcKing Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Right in the nostalgia. A very colorful and decently sized build with a good selection of characters. I realize the "18+" is for build complexity or whatnot. However it makes me think who's the special quest on the show this time? Dave Chappelle? 1 1 Quote
