nolanfan34
Thoughts here for both investing and collecting... I have a 8129 I picked up a couple of years ago. Box is not perfect, has some creasing, but nice seals, etc. This set has shot up quite a bit into the $250 range on eBay. (I got it for $90 or so I think) Local baseball card store near me has a 4483, listed for $199. The box is a bit worn, and has a popped seal on the side. I guess all pieces/bags are unopened though. I can probably talk him down to $175, if not maybe a bit lower (if I buy the Vampyre Castle he has for $80 as well). Soooo....better long term investment? The popped seal dings the set a bit, doesn't it? 4483 has less minifigs, but 200 more pieces and a sturdier/slightly bigger build. And of course is older. Any thoughts? My budget is limited (or should be, lol), so I am thinking of it as either/or vs having both sets.
Studebricker
4483 is the superior set of the two, but if you're just buying one to sell, I would go for the 8129. This is not the last AT-AT set to be sure...
stephen_rockefeller
I personally think that the 8129 looks better when built but as we all know everyone has different tastes and opinions.
Grolim
I like the 4483 better. Just need a UCS AT-AT now to top it!
Mos_Eisley
There are still baseball card shops?!
stephen_rockefeller
They have to sell other things just to stay in bussines I'm sure!
