Jeez...

I know we complain about it always, but it's freaking 2019.  They still can't get this to work right?

Maybe because they know that us reseller scum are the majority that buy online right when the sets go live and want to screw with us...

Don't care if they do have that much traffic. Get a queuing system or just get extra server power for today. The largest toy company in the world should be able to afford that.

Traffic isn't an issue at all with things like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. This is basically just LEGO being cheap and not wanting to pay to scale their servers up for a few days. And/or horrible programming.

Yeah, that excuse doesn't work.  They aren't small time.  They could scale up for these big push days, and they know it.

I do this web site stuff for a living these days, and they very clearly have no interest in hiring an actual IT consultant or two to come in and fix their IT infrastructure.

I keep seeing my cart flash with like 5 Disney trains in it (then it goes to zero) and then I can't sign on.  I want 1 not five but the system is a train wreck

I had 7 in my cart at one point.

Lilly Pulitzer for their annual sale has a line system where you go to the site, get a number and wait. More than 100,000 people thru in an hour usually...lego needs a queue system!
