comicblast Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Ive just been looking into the architecture sets and noticed that the sets that are shown are being shown as discounted 5 extra $.... like the sets for 19.99 are available for 19.97 on amazon and it shoes there is a 5$ or 23% discount am i missing something? this goes for a few other sets like 21011 Sometimes Amazon will sell things for a high list price, only to discount it "heavily", so this is not unheard of. They are trying to catch people off guard and make them want to buy it. For example, see Amazon vs. LEGO Shop at Home: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Green-Building-Plate-10/dp/B00000JIVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361240843&sr=8-1&keywords=lego+baseplate& http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Large-Green-Baseplate-626 As you can see, LEGO Shop at Home sells it for half the cost that Amazon's full price is, but Amazon's price is discounted down to $7.47 which is 25%. You just need to be careful, and you probably will not be caught in one of Amazon's clever traps! Hope this helped, comicblast Quote
Jeff Mack Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 This is why you also see the big red text for high amazon list price. We are trying to make you aware that the sets are priced higher than normal, thus the discount isn't really accurate. Quote
