tacsniper Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) It seems that LEGO Shop at Home's system can now keep track of previous orders in relations to the qtn limits. Ie: If you buy 5x D.O. today, you cannot order 5 more D.O. tomorrow. Well your second order will go through, but the system will cancel your order shortly. Is this something that have been implemented lately? If so, when do they reset the limit? Edited November 12, 2018 by tacsniper Quote
CosmicSpeed Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I knew something was up when they adjusted the way you login to your account. Also, when I was in-store, they were able to email me my receipt to me...this was new. However, I did manage to get a promo set in-store and also online ordering. I haven't run into any large ordering issues, but I think Lego are tracking more purchase data or at least viewing data they have always collected in a amore manageable format. Quote

Or by preferably investing in sets with higher limits, or by investing in a larger amount of different sets (with lower limits) than before. Or by having multiple accounts. Quote
Dark Helmet Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Just got my order canceled today. Thought I was safe with waiting till the order ships but I guess not anymore after reading this thread. Quote

It’s a limit of 5. I bought 1 in July and the 4 in sets of two this past week. I tried to buy another 2 today and it canceled the order. I wanted to see if I could get 1 and it went through. I will wait till that ships and try calling in my next order. 1 Quote
Lordoflego Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 They want all kids to get their LEGO from them this x-mas season instead of from resellers imo Quote

I thought they were already with the vast amount of boring sets (eg. Star Wars) still unsold gathering dust everywhere. I struggle to understand... just let any buyer order as much as they want and just make a lot more, how hard can it be? I'm sure a company of LEGO's size can reserve some production capacity to fill in any gaps in supply. Apart from LEGO and Amazon, you can more-or-less order as many sets as you want from anywhere else with multiple orders. I've placed several orders of 100+ from Tesco Direct and Asda without a problem. It's very rare I do this now as my buy-in discount is now way higher than it was. Alibaba will let you buy 10,000 knock-offs so why not LEGO? Edited November 15, 2018 by TabbyBoy Quote
iahawks550 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 LEGO is a strange company with really strange ideas. If this was a public company, I'm guessing stockholders would be throwing tantrums over operational procedures and policies. Quote

If they don't get their act together, we'll be saying, " LEGO WAS a strange company". I had a chance of working for them a few years ago, I'm now glad I didn't. Quote
iahawks550 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 LEGO has been around for a long time. They aren't going anywhere, but they have completely failed to build upon what they are good at. Instead, they get in their own way, produce 50% repeat garbage, 25% new but uninspired stuff, and 25% incredible pieces. From being the hottest Christmas toy two years ago to seeing shelves full, waiting for clearance. Quote

Brickshopper Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 SAH has definitely made some changes you can no longer make multiple orders containing max limits of the same item. It is really frustrating because we have had 4 orders cancelled and the authorizations are still there in paypal 6 days after cancelling the order. Quote
joneyyy1981 Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 anyone ever found a way around these small limits now? Quote

gmpirate Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Last time I ordered Fossils was July 1st, 3rd & 5th for a total of 3. Ordered one more on August 28th and was cancelled. Just tried ordering one more today, October 18th and it was cancelled. Quote

Be aware that if you keep ordering to be canceled - your limit will sometimes go to 0. Quote

Not like I'm trying to get cancelled. Some things reset, some take longer and some who knows. I actually keep a spreadsheet of my orders now so I don't go over limits. Quote
