I'm sure this has been asked/answered and I just missed it when I searched the forum.

I finally bit the bullet and decided to start allowing GSP shipping on my listings. I got an offer on a listing (with customer paying shipping) that has the ship to location as 2445AE, Arlanderveen, Netherlands. That is...not Erlanger, Kentucky. Will it automatically change to the GSP shipping after, or have I done something wrong with my listing? Thanks guys.

That would indicate that you are offering both GSP & an international shipping option.

I now use GSP for <2KG items as it takes care of tracking and seller protection. Just make sure that the package measurements and weight is accurate. In the UK, sending overseas with full tracking and signature is simply too expensive and you're still open to "errors" with remote services. With GSP, eBay take responsibility once they get the package. As I said before, more expensive items are only shipped to the UK with NO exception.

Yeah, I thought that may be the case too. I double  checked and I only have " Send your package to the US shipping center and the rest will be taken care of for you. " checked off as an option.

There's another section with additional shipping options.  You need to make sure you aren't offering anything in there.

If it says "No alternative International Shipping" in the drop-down, you're good. Since this is an offer it is likely showing the full address, the GSP address will get substituted in the actual order process.

Do you see something like this? (minus the excluded shipping locations)

Also I missed the part about "The offer" so I think @Phil B is correct in this situation.

I do not, it's using the simple listing as a default for me.

Please, for the love of Pete, switch out of the Simple Listing tool. Nothing but trouble (e.g. magically appearing Best Offer options etc.)

Not so much selling advice (more buying advice) I've never had a package go MIA. They tried delivering the package over a week ago (have it on my camera) doorbell doesn't work and they didn't take the 2 seconds to knock. Got the letter left "sorry we missed you" so I took it to pick up the following Monday and no one can find it....I've called the 800 number, opened a case, etc. what more can I do? And how do I get my money back? Not the sellers fault that USPS is not very competent. The manager at the USPS was not helpful said I would get a call in 2-3 business days havnt heard anything yet and it's been a week...not sure what to do next? Contact eBay? PayPal?

Did you call your area USPS distribution facility or your local Post Office?

Either way I'd try calling them again. You can also ask your mail delivery person about it.

Well this may be the problem. I don't know who delivered it. Wasn't the usual guy, never saw him before. I asked my usual guy he said he would look into it (this past Friday) still nothing. Was given the customer relations local number...going to call them tomorrow. This never happens and figures it's something rare/expensive.

Hate to hear about this, but stay on top of them. It'll turn up.

I encountered something new in eBay today: paypal not allowing to print international shipping labels when the receiver does not have a phone number recorded with them. However the customer insists that paypal has his phone number, but I keep getting the phone number error.

What should I do in this case? I feel like I can just put my own phone number in there so that the transaction can proceed. But I'm worried that it might change the "address" I ship to discounting me from seller protection. Has anyone else experienced this before?

Just bumped into this 5 mins ago myself, messaged my buyer. Keen for any insight myself, may ring PayPal tomorrow. I can at least confirm it is only International orders, another label to a Canadian buyer (no phone number) went through as usual.

Contact PayPal.

If you put in the sellers phone number and ship to Canada customs could refuse to allow the parcel through (in the rare case they call) if they find out it's not the importer's phone number. It's explicitly stated that it is the importer's phone number that's required and I suspect other countries follow the same rules.

Edit: cancel the following, I'm still having issues; change the phone number and the error changes to 'incorrect address, please try again'. Second rep I got was useless. Waiting for a supervisor call back.

I just had a nice chat with a PayPal rep, and she advised me to use my own phone number, and that would still apply for my Seller Protection. She went on to say that PayPal has been complaining to ebay about this new policy themselves, and it's likely to evolve and change in the future. Apparently PayPal is being asked to collect this information, but eBay's policies clearly state NO Phone Numbers or personal information is to be transferred, so it's a catch 22 since PayPal doesn't really know why they're being asked to collect it. They've been getting lots of calls about it apparently, enough that it's becoming a pain for them, so expect changes to the policy.

Just the messenger, if you want more certainty call PayPal yourself of course, it was a quick call.

Just got off the phone from paypal customer service. First agent did not know what to do so he passed me onto technical support. When tech support picked up and asked me about the issue, was again put on hold for a couple minutes. When he came back he told me it was actually asking for MY phone number and it is a "security feature" that they sometimes do. He advised me to just put my own phone number and it should work.

I put my own number in there and it did work; it got through the error and was able to print a shipping label. However it clearly was asking for the customer's phone number as my number appeared on the customer's phone field... I just hope customs lets this through, Im worried they wont since the seller and customer's phone number fields are only separated by about 5 lines and it shows the exact same number on both. ?

Personally I think you'll be fine, but you should always believe us brickpickers over PayPal. ;)

Seriously, I've purchased hundreds of items from the US over the years and have never been called. I've even imported large and uncommon items like pinball machines, car tires, etc without any contact from customs.

I have a 0 feed back buyer who has an incomplete address. I've messaged twice now with no response. I can't print a shipping label because there's no street name.

The address is some thing like :

860

Somewhereville, Fl 11122

He's paid, maybe ship to PayPal address? I'm afraid of adjusting the address because of seller protection. When is cancellation justified?

Thanks

Quick question!  I sold a couple of minifigures to someone with 480 feedback.  They opened a case against me saying didn't receive it, but I print the labels with ebay. It was shipped first class in a box.  The tracking says...

DELIVERED FRONT DOOR/PORCH

Mar-17-17, 12:33 PM, AUGUSTA 30907

OUT FOR DELIVERY

Mar-17-17, 10:39 AM, AUGUSTA 30907

I told him to check around his porch and he says he lives in an apt.  I checked his address and it's one of those multi unit apts.  What should I do now?  Am I protected as a seller because I used ebay to print my labels?

Seems weird that I have to refund him the whole amount.  I'm sure probably USPS lost it.  Was just wondering who's responsibiliity is when USPS loses it.  I told him to also ask his local post office.

Thanks for any advice.

I believe you should be protected as a seller once the delivery has been made. Furthermore, the PayPal address that is listed is what the package was delivered to. As long as you didn't edit the address you were given to print the label, you should be fine.

If this escalates, you can contact USPS Consumer Affairs to get the details of HOW the mail carrier delivered the package. I did that some months back when a client said he hadn't received a package to the address he gave me. It turns out it was an office park of sorts and it was given to someone there who was authorized to receive it.  Once it's delivered and out of both your and USPS' hands, you should not be held liable.

You can call local post office and ask them to check tracking. If usps verifies correct address tell buyer that usps tracking has GPS coordinates that show it was delivered at his/her address.(apt)
I've had something similar happen twice. The first time I think the buyer was lying bc I did the above and never heard back. The second instance the package was delivered to a neighbors house.

"This summer eBay will roll out Guaranteed Delivery in the United States, providing faster and more precise delivery dates for shoppers. At launch, eBay will guarantee delivery in 3 days or less on 20 million eligible items – millions of which will offer free shipping. In addition, shoppers will also be able to search for and filter items by 1- and 2-day delivery."

Very exciting news for the platform. As an avid online shopper I know I would purchase alot more on ebay with guaranteed 1 or 2 day shipping. Also very excited to have my items already stored at Amazon be eligible for this new program. In the past I have offered free 2 day shipping on ebay but it never really took off. With this new filter my items will be front and center to buyers where 1 or 2 day is the priority, and price is only an after thought.
