sroster Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 My local LL discovery still have these on the shelves for $200. I am always tempted but since I already own a couple I tend to go for sets that seem to offer more bang for my buck. Am I nuts to not clear the shelves of these for $200 each? Quote

I am always tempted but since I already own a couple I tend to go for sets that seem to offer more bang for my buck. Am I nuts to not clear the shelves of these for $200 each? No. Would it be the worst buy in the world? No. But they aren't taking off like Haunted Houses. Their gain will be slow over time especially since so many were sold at $99. With so many buyers getting in on these at half off, there will be many for sale in the low 200s for some time at folks get their 30% gain and move on. It time this will make somebody that bought at $200 some money, but it will be awhile. IMO 1 Quote

Am I nuts to not clear the shelves of these for $200 each? please read what i typed above your post i gave prob the best case scenario if ROI is 40% in both year 1 and 2 using $160 as the starting point instead of $200. Set would be about $315 in Dec 2016. personally, I think the value will be closer to $275 than $315. 1 Quote
sroster Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Yeah. Trying to not let personal taste take over my investment brain. To me this is one of the coolest sets and I am a big fan of the B-Wing but logically, loading up on Town Hall, Tower of Orthanc, R2, etc probably a much better use of my money. Thanks for the advice. Guess I'll let them sit awhile longer at least heh. Quote

Neosphinx Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The B-Wing was my 2nd ever Lego set and I loved the uniqueness of the starship! I agree. Always wanted this one for display when I started out. It's a unique spacecraft. Has only been 2 weeks I bought them. Fighting the urge to open the box. Quote

Fighting the urge to open the box. When I first started collecting lego I bought it at full MSRP under a year ago, $280cdn taxes in. I only have one for personal though and it's still NISB. Our lego store had it on display and it IS a sexy beast! Quote

Neosphinx Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 The B-wing seems to be more popular in Europe than US it seems. Any of Europeans saw this one discounted lower than 159 Quote

hannibal Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Nah, I haven't seen it cheaper here either. But I do agree with you, seems more appreciated here, which surprises me to be honest. Quote

hannibal Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Nice price. I just wondered about it since our US friends had them for 99$ I suggest you stop thinking about that one in particular, because you'll have to hold your breath! I know it's not fair but hey....is life fair to start with? Quote

Just wondered if I had them at a good price and seeing the response here, it's certainly not bad. Quote

hannibal Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I have five and i am still keeping them. This is criminally underrated set, similar to the Imperial Shuttle which is absolutely stunning yet people pay more money for quite mediocre sets... Go figure. I am hoping the b wings come into play long term... 1 Quote
JDLego324 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Saw two today at Legoland Woodfield (Chicago). I passed, so they may still be there. Quote
NZ-EUG Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) UCS B Wing is bigger than mini fig scale, plus has new to this set parts only. I will probably display mine with the mini fig grey squadron pilot from play-set B Wing version. Edited October 28, 2014 by NZ-EUG Quote

I will probably display mine with the mini fig grey squadron pilot from play-set B Wing version. like most other UCS SW sets, you can do a slight mode to the cockpit chair for the minifig. i did this with my old 10175 Tie Advanced Prototype. However, the cockpit window was too dark to see Vader. Quote
NZ-EUG Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 UCS B Wing cockpit will fit a mini fig straight out of the box with no modification needed. Quote
Neosphinx Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Holy crap, this set boomed 23% :-| Funny that not many people believed in its potential Quote
