Ed Mack Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yep - methinks we will see this guy appreciate nicely once it's off the major online retailer's virtual shelves. BTW, the $100 B-Wing was an absolute gift from TLC. I can't wait for the next one (if there is one). The $100 B-Wing was the easiest way to indicate who is a reseller. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 The $100 B-Wing was the easiest way to indicate who is a reseller. Maybe. It probably created a few a resellers, too, though. 1 Quote

DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Maybe. It probably created a few a resellers, too, though. Those are probably gone though. They thought everything was gonna be that easy. Its not. Luckily its fun. Quote
Sauromosis Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Whoa, whoa, let's remember the thing is unstable when built and seems to get negative user reviews. I see appreciation, but not a home run. Quote

I do not have the set, so what do you mean that it is unstable when built? Does it fall apart or something like that? Quote
Sauromosis Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I have read many reviews on Walmart.com and other places that say the wings fall off. Haven't built it myself, own 2. Quote
jaisonline Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It is a huge Lego UCS spaceship. The UCS line is meant for display and not play. Reviewers forget that. Quote
exciter1 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 UCS ships are meant to be tied to ceiling fans and spin on high until they hit 12 parsecs. 3 Quote
Ed Mack Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 If displayed, the set is no different than any other UCS set. Did you ever try to fly around a 10030 Star Destroyer or 10179 Millennium Falcon? Quote

Did you ever try to fly around a 10030 Star Destroyer or 10179 Millennium Falcon? Exactly. Unless we are those total jerks who flew an SSD into a DS and made me cry, why would anyone ever need them to do something that causes wings to fall off? Here is a review for you: When built it looks badass as hell. It is a "cod-piece" of a living room. It's massive and blends in well with other UCS sets in terms of size and impressiveness. Stamp it with that. Quote

Did you ever try to fly around a 10030 Star Destroyer or 10179 Millennium Falcon? I have never tried to fly one of those sets around. I would imagine that they are really heavy and that if you dropped it, you would be spending the next few days trying to build the set back after it was destroyed. Quote
KG204 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It holds together well, but definitely not enough for playing. Pieces don't come off, especially if simply being displayed. Quote

Stamp it with that. To be fair, that video showed how stable SSD was by the way that guy handled his copy before throwing it. Had it been B-Wing, it would most likely start losing pieces while still airborne. Quote

MartinP Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 To be fair, what's the point? LOL. Who throws their $200-$400 LEGO sets around? I saw that video, and I am not sure what the point was for it. I do not know anyone that throws $200-$400 Lego sets around. Personally, I would never do something like that to any of my Lego sets. exciter1 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 To be fair, what's the point? LOL. Who throws their $200-$400 LEGO sets around? For the fanboy, that is as close as you're going to get to reenacting the SSD crashing into the Death Star II at the end of Return of the Jedi. Quote
justafrog Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Darn it, and I was trying to find a set for Chase (5 lbs) to fly around in... Quote
Anakinisvader Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 To be fair, what's the point? LOL. Who throws their $200-$400 LEGO sets around? Not me, I just tie bottle rockets and black cats to them, light fuse and get away. Quote

I understand wanting to make a viral video, my point was really about people complaining about a set because it falls apart when thrown around or played with. It is a display set and to expect a Tonka toy is quite unrealistic. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 To be fair, what's the point? LOL. Who throws their $200-$400 LEGO sets around? My 1st sentence was really my point (SSD being stable). Upon re-read, I probably should have not mentioned airborne in the 2nd sentence Quote
Huskers1236 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 UCS ships are meant to be tied to ceiling fans and spin on high until they hit 12 parsecs. Yes they are. I have gone through several fans trying to destroy my MF, it has survived all flights. It may look like a piece of junk, but it's got it where it counts. 1 Quote

Sauromosis Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 There's a reason it was sold for 99 and it wasn't charity. Quote
