Alpinemaps Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 That article also mentions an Obi origin film. Why can’t my little green hero get a movie?I want to see when the swamp rat got showered with oozed and mutated into a samurai master. Maybe I’m getting confused...As much as I’d like to see a Yoda standalone, I’m going to guess that one will wait.Disney seems pretty set on not doing anything further before TPM for the time being. 1 Quote

Give me more SW Story films. I want films in this universe. I want to see other corners of the universe. I’m fine if it’s with familiar characters. But give me something different, stand-alone, overarching thread - very Marvel films like. Yep... i'm in agreement with you on that. The ST is terribly orchestrated, while the two offshoot films were fun thrill rides. I''ll take a Rogue One and Solo film anyday over whatever the Last Jedi tried to be. I don't even mind them recasting characters.. I look forward to the Obi-wan and Boba Fett films, but have no interest in the Rian Johnson trilogy or Episode 10. I almost feel like we are on a 3 year break until the Obi-wan movie comes out. 3 Quote
justapilgrim Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 For the timeline purists: captain Marvel will be set in the 90s. So...not best for comparison Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I am curious how they square off the young Boba from Clone Wars (it is Canon ? ) with the movie. Are they going to ignore it or build upon it? Quote

I kind of think it's going to take the wind out of everyone's sails and no one will care after a while. I agree. It's already started. Han Solo opened to a huge amount of empty seats... Disney and Lucasfilm's "Solo: A Star Wars Story," a prequel film about the origins of Han Solo, made an estimated $101 million domestically for its four-day weekend opening which includes the Monday holiday, according to Disney. That makes "Solo" the smallest opening for a "Star Wars" film since 2002. While I thought it was a good film, it wasn't special by any means. More of the same to come with STAR WARS movies every year. 1 Quote
fourkidsbuilding Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 I just hope 75060 retires before the Fett movie comes out....might be cutting it close. 1 Quote
Val-E Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Interesting article about the frequency of the movies killing the franchise. It´s true that F and F and Bond films are spaced further apart. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/will-dismal-solo-box-office-cause-disney-rethink-star-wars-strategy-1115233 Quote

iahawks550 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Boba Fett comes across as a real bad a$$. Until his death. Quite possibly one of the lamest of all Star Wars related deaths. Quote

He doesn't care much about the original trilogy and finds it looks outdated. He prefers the prequel trilogy much more over the OT because they're more spectacular, look more advanced and modern. He doesn't understand why I find Empire Strikes Back the best SW movie. Just to give an indication where the younger generation puts their preference... Actually, my 12 and 14 yr old kids say the same thing. Prequels over the OT, but neither of them have any interest in the new trilogy after they killed off Han. I wonder how much The Clone Wars influenced their like of the prequels though. Both of my kids grew up on those and were bummed when they ended. They quickly got hooked on Rebels and were bummed when those ended too. They're not as excited about the new cartoon series. They really want to know about Ezra, Sabine, and Ahsoka. Quote

Episode VII December 18, 2015 Rogue One: December 16, 2016 Episode VIII December 15, 2017 Solo: May 25, 2018 Episode IX December 20, 2019 Boba Fett 2020 Only recent film not released for the Holiday season, only 5 months since that last one and where I am at least Infinity War is still showing. I agree. They were mad not to release it in Xmas 2018. Give people a bit of a rest and even gaps between films. Episode 9 will run against the next Jame Bond film. Quote

marcandre Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Disney will never do it but Boba Fett should be rated R. He is a bounty hunter, an assassin. Go the Terminator route. Deadpool has proven a blockbuster can be rated R. 1 Quote
