kumas Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 imho fair price would be 250€ but I guess they have to pay for extensive R&D for this set Quote

alias26 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 This is awesome. I know what to get my kids for the holidays now..? 1 Quote

I missed out on the $49 Boost, but found one on clearance at Walmart this morning for $75. Picked it up specifically because of that press release this morning. Quote

Ed Mack Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Looks like a complicated and difficult build with a potential for issues in many areas, but worthwhile nonetheless. Very cool set. Quote

Very cool set. Yes, I am sure that on release day one we will get at least ten people complaining it´s a poor design and that their coasters don´t roll only to find they built it wrong. 2 Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Is it weird that I am more excited about the cotton candy cart ??? 5 1 Quote
longshot Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 This is a no brainer and will help drive the prices of all the other amusement park sets.............. Score!!!! 1 Quote
crayxlp Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 would be really hard (if there was any contest) to vote for the BEST of 2018 set.. ... I judge the box would be the size of Sandcrawler? Quote
longshot Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Is it me or does the roller coaster want to be stretched by about half more in length........... Def going to need to buy 2 Quote

Alpinemaps Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I've moved the Boost specific talk (e.g., what other sets it works with) over to the Boost thread: Quote
Val-E Posted April 26, 2018 Author Posted April 26, 2018 Sure are churning out the publicity material. Second video of the day. 3 Quote
Pietsma Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I hope I’m wrong, but I think there are a lot of stickers in this set. In forementioned video for example all the signs looks like they’re applied. At this price point, least they can do is properly print these things.. ? Nonetheless this is a no brainer buy for me. Quote

I´m still coming to terms with Howard Stern being the rollercoaster operator. Quote
crayxlp Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 (edited) Im pretty sure that the Roller Coaster is based on the one in Prague (= take into account that LEGO has a real horde of designers in Kladno factory who/that produce(s) and make(s) the mock-ups, real size models and other "big things" for lego stores and parks around the world). below the pictures of cca 40 yrs old main Roller Coaster in Prague, CZE.. does anyone miss the similarities? the color branding, shape... .. etc? YEEYY!!! . . and it is even more expensive here than in the rest of Europe.. .. just pure ingenuine, TLG.. really.. forget some "national feeling, appreciation.. or GRATITUDE (for local tax benefits)" or whatever that LEGO could display.. CosmicSpeed Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) @crayxlp That is a pretty spot on replica. I was looking for a similar mini-steel coaster as representation but that matches almost perfectly. Too bad this doesn't give us any hints....Lake with rowing boats? Jurassic Park Gate maybe? /s Edited April 27, 2018 by CosmicSpeed 1 Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 It definitely looks good in action in those videos. I'm glad it can make it all the way around on its own. I wouldn't say it's based on any particular coaster though. Every state fair in the U.S. has a small coaster that looks just like it. 2 Quote
Sandwraith Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Would love to pick this up, but no room One day.... Quote
seapotato Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 looks like a great set. i can't stomach the price though. Quote
