blooddogg757 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Hello all! I am new to Brick Picker and am very glad I stumbled across the site! I am a 36 year old father from Virginia Beach, Virginia currently residing in Western North Carolina. I have always been interested in LEGO but they have always been a little to far out of reach price wise. I recently started investing in them and was currently wondering if I open them and put them together does that diminish the value? Even if the instructions and box are kept in pristine condition? Thanks for considering! Quote

BrickLegacy Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Hello! Welcome to the site. New and sealed sets typically demand the highest prices across the board. That said, if you do open them, saving the instructions will help preserve some value. The box helps a little bit, too. Good luck! Quote
blooddogg757 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 OK, thanks! I really, really want to put some of these sets together..., and some of them I have, like my Marvel BrickHeadz set. I did save all the boxes, instructions and even the plastic bags the bricks came in. Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 You will still recoup money . I say open it , build it and enjoy it 2 Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Meow and welcome! Any decent set is often worth at least what you paid for it down the line if you keep it clean with all the bits and instructions. Quote
blooddogg757 Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 Thanks for the advice! I picked up a bunch of Lego Chima minifigs and unicycle? today for a 20 dollar bill, pretty cool. No boxes, instructions and the minifigs didnt come, with the weapons (if they even came with any) but for 20 bucks I couldn't pass them up. (I tried to upload a couple photos but couldn't). Quote
