That escalated quickly.  RIP TRU

https://m.toysrus.com

Thanks for visiting. We have
shut down the website for any
purchases but our brick and
mortar stores are open and
holding going out of business
sales. You can keep up-to-date
with this historic sale at
http://goodbuytoysrus.com. We
encourage you to stop by your
local store and take full
advantage of the deep discounts
and deals available. Thank you
for your business and support
over the years.

Sincerely, Toys"R"Us and
Babies"R"Us teams.

Am I taking crazy pills, or is the site loading just fine?

looks like they shut down their ebay business also. I actually thought they would sell their website.

There is a number of negative feedback on ebay about non-shipment so i guess they were having issues completing orders

They kinda always had that for years.  eBay got rid of there feedback percentage for awhile to adhere to the 98% minimum requirement to sell.

I mean I don't want to have to call you crazy but we kinda knew it already...

I almost completed checkout on stuff I didn't want (& probably wouldn't get) trying to see the shut down message. :P

Unless those gift cards are discounted, which I'm sure they aren't, I don't know who would bother especially with the risk you run having to make sure to use them within the next few weeks.

Grandmas/parents that don't know what is going on with TRU will buy them for gifts and then realize a few weeks from now they are worth nothing. Stores should pull these now.

You should be seeing this pop up

Must be mobile only? I've logged into my account. Added items to my cart and taken it all the way through checkout. The only thing I haven't done is Place order.

Edit: Checked again and now I'm not able to choose a shipping method. Must be slowly propagating to the regular website.

I can get on the site and look at things, but then the message pops up and the whole screen reloads.  Either way, I'm done with that store and don't trust doing business with it any longer.  It's over Johnny!  Over!

I thought about doing that, but then I thought that it might be considered federal crime since I was thrown of one taking a picture mailing my wedding invitations.

I'm going to guess some postal employee thought you were creating a disturbance by doing something perfectly legal - taking photographs on public property.

That's a trip. It all loads like normal for me right now.

I see the pop-up now at work. I think my adblocking at home must prevent it. :|
That's pretty dumb to have a little pop-up be the warning and then let you proceed as usual. They should just redirect the whole domain to the goodbuy site.

How is taking a picture of you mailing your wedding invitation considered a federal crime?

I believe you can take them anywhere that doesn’t have a sign stating it’s prohibited(lobby). Where they take the mail should have one of those signs. I think they might suspect someone could be staking it out for some type of crime... making off with your birthday card and the $5 from grandma! Or on much more serious note it could be something like what happened in Austin a couple weeks ago.
