They always treated me with indifference or spite shutting me down at every promotion and once even canceling a purchase AFTER it was rang up and paid for using TRUTH and gift cards. I made the decision 2 years ago never to purchase from that store again until she no longer is an employee there. I may still get my chance to gloat in 6 month's time after her unemployment checks run out and she is ringing up my purchases at Walmart clearance event. Being angry at a retail employee who is losing their job is akin to going out of your way on a morning stroll to squish a bug that is already dying. Val-E
Game over in the UK by next month. Reseller scum start your engines. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-43401674 All Toys R Us stores in the UK will close in the next six weeks following the chain's collapse into administration. Attempts to find a buyer for the US retailer's 100 stores in the UK have failed. Twenty five stores have either closed in recent days or are due to shut by Thursday. The collapse will put more than 3,000 people out of work as a dismal period for the retail sector continues. richiej1979
Lego currently at around 15% discount. Not worth starting my engine just yet.

Val-E
What an epitaph: “We know that customers are willing to pay more for an enjoyable experience — just look at the lines at Starbucks every day — but Toys R Us has failed to give us anything special or unique,”

CosmicSpeed
They were unique in that they routinely charged 20% more for Lego and pretty much any other toy than anywhere else. That said, it will be missed having a dedicated toy store to occasionally walk into opposed to dedicated toy aisles. TheBrickClique
15% off GC's at cardpool. If I was physically present in the store, I might jump on that deal. Otherwise, they could be worthless in the next 24 hours.

Ed Mack
All they needed to be was the cheapest toy retailer in the world and things would have worked out. waddamon
Stinks for us. Only store that was the closest thing to a lego store in New Mexico. If you wanted a rarer set they had it. Where Wal-Mart and target do not. Those are the only choices. Doubt we see real clearance pricing from them.

minicoopers11
And so it is. Or will be. Sure, the in-store experience gone will be disappointing. For me, the most disappointing thing will be no more Bricktober sets. Or well, no more Bricktober. TRU carried the mantle there. Also, no more TRU exclusives...fewer polybags we will have? But I was at TRU over this past weekend, and they still had Bricktober sets on the shelf at $20. 25 minutes ago, Kelric said: I just want to know when the everything must go sales kick in. For SoCal, I'm willing to bet the vultures (e.g., Soccer Mom's) will hit the store as soon as 10% off kicks in, and decimate it. I can hope that we'll see some real stuff on sale, but seriously doubt there will be much of anything at any good discount.
