Thats a bit of a deal breaker for me as I was planning to have it in a table

Yeah Will that's the thing....

the issue is that it's a "display" piece

if we were buying a "play" set it wouldn't matter

One of Lego's biggest Positives over ANY other brick building manufacturer is their Translucent piece Quality they produce...it's clear, and when lit Properly the Product Sparkles and glimmers(which is why most lego store displays look so dang good, and a big part of why L3PiN bricks and others Suck)

...it's too bad really, to release this like they did and not take advantage of those 60 pieces of eye candy ...so I figure after this is bought...it doesn't look to hard to modify with a few 300 pieces or less....and that's a bare minimum to make it look as good as a 10179 rear Build.

Hey moderators is there a way to have tabbyboys current feeling on this set replacing the poll at the top?  Haven't been on in a minute so catching up on this and for a week every other page is a post from him saying how he's going to buy 3- 1 to open, 1 to keep, and 1 to sell after retirement to help pay for the others. A few hours ago he changed that to only buying 1. Then a couple hours ago he changed that to maybe buying none. Maybe his opinion could be on the ticker on the front page?

We need to keep the poll to make sure that the 49% of voters who say it is a first day/month purchase go through with it. If that´s the case, then TLG have no need to worry about meeting their turnover and profit targets for the year.

@TabbyBoy ´s opinion of 75192 is no doubt correlative to the current value of Bitcoin so any good marketwatch ticker could do that job :)

As you see, I now have mixed feelings about 75192 as do others. I'll probably just bite the bullet when the time is right, no immediate plans to buy. I don't want to be negative, but I do expect near perfection for £649.99 ;-)

Do UK buyers think there will be a price increase in January? That could be reason enough to get in early. If it stays ar 650 quid then half of Holland will be importing them from the UK as there is almost a 150 euro price difference.

All rear ends Aside....If the 75192 hadn't been released....most that don't have a falcon would be looking at brick linking boat masts and radar dishes worth $800?Anyways....so might as well get 7,538 more pieces???

good thing those little Grey levers weren't remolded...lolol

So I took a local visit to the Lego store. Figured I'd post a few pics. Haven't had a chance to read through the thread but the Lego employee told me that essentially the new Lego VIP card will be given out with each Falcon purchase (New OR existing members) It will come with special promotions throughout the year focused primarily on Star Wars Legos. Your existing card and membership will still work. Kind of a cool concept.

Thanks for the information. Most interesting about the promotions.

Too bad.  It could have been the coolest part of the ship if done correctly with some light bricks and modern build techniques.  I would have paid $1000.00 if they really made an effort here.

It's so beautiful in the cockpit area and I suppose there would have to be a trade off piece wise to build out the rear (I imagine to do it right would have been another $50/$100) I would pay extra to have the rear correct as well. Maybe there is a market for "Redesigned Rear-end kits" lol

Yes she just dumped it on me lol. That's what I was most interested to learn as well. So they are HAND MADE in Germany and will come shipped after the set has been purchased according to her. It's sort of a beta test.

She said if this went well they could see additional cards for Technic and / or city in a similar fashion.

I agree.  There will be creative people that come up with a solution for this.  LED lights back there will look awesome.  Marshal Banana's engine design was very cool and set the standard IMO.

That's exactly how I imagined this set should look. You would think with all the anticipation and cost there would be more of a MOC feel. I guess what should we expect for a measly 800 bucks. LOL

To do the rear end correctly and then somehow beef up the flat bottom I could see this right at $1,000. This thing is already going to cause marital disputes but that would push it to divorce and/or domestic violence. LOL

Good point about the bottom.  I really didn't even think about that poorly designed area.  LEGO models are notorious for their "weak bottoms."  LOL.

This is a FLAT bottom... It needs a few bumps or SOMETHING lol. Hence why everyone puts it in a low coffee table lol.

That's my beef with the SSD too. The top looks amazing and quite detailed but if you hang it above eye level it's a giant triangle... :(
