  1. 1. When will you buy your first 75192 UCS Falcon?

    • First day VIP early access purchase.
    • 2x VIP promo in October 2017.
    • Wait for discount of between 10%-19%.
    • Wait for discount between 20%-29%.
    • Wait for discount of at least 30%.
    • Wait until it shows solid signs of retiring.
    • No plans to buy this set.

I'm buying only 1 with a big discount which I think will happen if it's non-exclusive. I was thinking of getting 3, but the scam risk on eBay is just too high for such an expensive set. I think there's going to be some inconvenienced and ripped off flippers if they're not careful.

I should clarify that people are welcome to vote from both an investor and a personal collector´s standpoint.

Well on that note (as a personal collector) I will buy as soon as I find the price reasonable enough. But that doesn't mean that if it's not reasonable I won't buy it because I've been wanting the previous one for years but it's been super expensive so I definitely won't miss out this time!!!

The Brick Fan is reporting that it will be very limited in stock at stores on release day

This is what I'm concerned about. I would prefer to wait for more VIP points, but this could become a Saturn IV situation. My parents have offered to get me this set as a Birthday/Christmas/Father's Day/Arbor Day/We Feel Guilty for Missing a Few Birthdays gift and I'd hate to miss it and end up with more pots and pans from QVC!

I'm waiting to pick this up with a discount at some point. It's just too expensive in my country to justify buying at RRP. This decision is not at all influenced by my wife.

So, over on Eurobricks someone posted that these wont actually be available in the UK for wide release in store on 14 Sept? Supposedly online only until 01 Oct?

Any credence to this information? Will we be able to buy this thing in-store on 14 Sep in US/Canada?

Going to keep bugging my location at Sherway as we get closer to the 14th, but they said they do expect to get "very few". Maybe they will spill more info closer to release.

I wonder how far in advance the individual stores get their shipping manifests?

I'm a bit torn on when to buy this.  My brain tells me to wait for at least 2X VIP points with a great promo set.  I had planned to buy the set in October, but I'm fully underwhelmed by the VIP promo set with the dragon.  Black Friday could be my next opportunity (I think we get 2X VIP points that weekend, right?)  as I'm hoping for one good holiday promo this year.

Then my heart chimes in, and it really likes the look of that VIP card.

All I know is that I'm not going to buy two sets...at least not immediately.

I think it's funny how it's difficult to find rear profile pics of this 75192 ...unless you go visit the store and take a good look at the display.

and I know you see it in that follow up trailer lego released....but heck...it's all lite up CGI style candy coating the reality that we are getting a lazy non brick built Engine with Translucent tubes.

??although I shouldn't be surprised ....this is the same designer that gave us "assault on hoth"75098

so not impressed with their "biggest set ever" selling point when clearly this is a cut corner and for what?...to save piece count?..lolol

if you are putting out over 7500 pieces and sticking us with $800, I say go big or go home

Lego did not offer double VIP points during black Friday last year.

As far as the debate between release day and double VIP points in October, it basically comes down to:

1) Release day: Guaranteed in hand (and long as you are early) and possible a limited edition (?) VIP card

2) Double VIP points October: Likely a good chance to get one (but maybe not) and an extra $40 worth of VIP points and free VIP set potentially worth about $20-$30.

So, looking at this from a purely monetary point of view, is the special black MF VIP card worth about $65 to you...?

That's my logic train at the moment.

I agree.  The finished product of the rear engine area is awful.

That rear end is dreadful and it could put me off buying it. I'll wait until I see one built in one of the stores first and read the first thorough review. LEGO need to justify the extortionate price for this set and I'm not sure they can. Things could be looking up for 10179 owners if they can just ride out the storm.
