Question, where and when where these photos taken? I asked at one of my local Lego stores if they were going to display this set on September 1 because the force Friday brochure said it would be. They told me flatly that the company doesn't display sets before they're available for purchase.

These models were shipped assembled/glued from LEGO to all LBR stores in the US for display.  Either your store is extremely unlucky or your store's manager is a dumbass and misread the instructions from corporate and is still hiding it in the back.

They were talking bull then as plenty of stores worldwide have it on display.

I legit wonder if that particular store was "too small" for the display?!

My store in NY had it for display - huuuuuuge and awesome. I also got a brochure. My plan is to call the store a few days ahead of time to try to gauge how many they're gonna have for sale so I know how early to line up at the store at. Right now I'm thinking of getting there around 8:30 AM for the 10 AM opening

As per usual, take what Lego store employees tell you with a grain of salt..

The Brick Fan is reporting that it will be very limited in stock at stores on release day

https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-ucs-millennium-falcon-75192-may-be-extremely-limited-at-release/

While really enjoy reading thrbrickfan.com but i'm not a fan of that article.

1) create drama when it's not needed.  2) i hope lego isn't pulling a nintendo with a 'flagship' product.

LEGO could have taken care of all of this nonsense with a "First Edition" set.  The first 10,000 (or whatever) made would have special markings and would sell worldwide...in store and online.  VIP cards and mystery sets and other BS giveaways that some get and others don't are a waste of time.  If they really were smart, they would have made this first run of sets uber desirable.   The buzz would have been tremendous.  Many will now wait for deals...and they will come...trust me.  After the initial contrived shortages to stir up interest on LEGO forums, there  will be plenty to be had by everyone.

Can someone incorporate the actual Millennium Falcon image into this (actual, 2007, 2017)?

Ok here's a nice pic I thought would give perspective to accuracy ...

this is from marshal banana's flicker page...

although it's been said in this chat that marshals version us not a "mini fig" scale, I tend to disagree based on the fact marshal was limited to the old canopy mold on his Build ...but the proportions are all the same...

based on the new canopy Mold released in the 75192 set...I believe marshal will further refine his Falcon based on his post and this pic he posted...

but I think it's a nice comparison overall in the pic

Yep disappointing no first editions like they did with 10179. I would have purchased many. Now I will get one to build at some stage. Missed opportunity by TLG for sure.

What's a "Special Edition" VIP card worth?  Nothing, because it will have you name on it.  LOL.

I think that after the 41999 mess they have deliberately avoided limited editions.

It didn't have to be individually numbered.  A special marking on the box and instruction book could have made it much more collectible and desirable.

Just as well that I'm no rush to buy a 75192 if there's no incentive to get in early. I no wonder how exclusive it'll be. I may even buy a 10179 first as values are in freefall and it could still be worth a lot than 75192 would be after EOL.

Regarding 41999.... that was much easier to get hold of than a 21309.
