  1. 1. When will you buy your first 75192 UCS Falcon?

    • First day VIP early access purchase.
    • 2x VIP promo in October 2017.
    • Wait for discount of between 10%-19%.
    • Wait for discount between 20%-29%.
    • Wait for discount of at least 30%.
    • Wait until it shows solid signs of retiring.
    • No plans to buy this set.

There was a free mini Falcon build at Barnes and Noble for Star Wars Reads day in either 2014 or 2015. And mini Falcon builds at the last two Star Wars Celebrations. The 2015 Celebration in Anaheim had a printed display base. 2017 Celebration in Orlando had a display base with no printing. All three are the same build or really close...and all three are sitting in my office.

Thank you!

Do you know they actually paid full RRP, though? Could be a scammer, could have a Lego discount or could have used VIP points. Maybe they also have a special FVF promo. I mean idiocy would be the number one suspicio but there are other possibilities.
But even so, why sell so low when you could get over £1k?
I wouldn't bother for less than 50% gross

Space.com has this cool timeline overview of the key Millennium Falcon sets (likely provided by LEGO based on the logo of the MF on the left):

I wish they would make a UCS City Fire Station and do the same chart.

Because if you listed it for 1k, 23 people will be in straight away to undercut you.

Wouldn't they all look the same? ;-)

Saw MF on display in Lego store this morning.   Amazing model in size/piece count.  Only wow factor I felt was in size (have never seen 10179 in person).   It certainly feels that piece count and iconic ship are guiding the price and potential demand.   Walked away wishing for 800 bucks there was something more unique or special to it.  Employees said couldn't provide any info on its availability, special vip cards, etc as they haven't received official release of info yet.  Said to come back when closer to vip early access date.

Again no - there is a simple definition between original plot and spin-offs:

Original plot has always the same characters included as at least supporting actor (e.g. Han Solo and Leia in the last movie) or their descendants (see Godfather 3).

Spin-offs have these characters NOT included with minor exceptions where some scenes of the spin-off take place in the same areas as the original plot...

it's canon no

Sorry if someone has already posted it, but here are a couple of photos of the set from my local store. It's hard to capture the scale of the set in these photos, but it's impressive. The box is really cool too.

Whenever someone stopped to gawk at it, someone else would ask "are you getting one"? There seems to be only two answers....1) oh, yeah for sure... or 2) are you kidding me? It's an $800 Lego set!?!  The former mostly from dudes...the latter mostly from moms with teenage kids..haha

Stupid question.  That's not actual box size is it?   Would be sweet if is.  It's enormous!

As far as I know, yes, that's the real box, and yeah it's pretty large.

I asked how long it took them to put it together. The guy in the store said that Lego shipped it to them in parts and they weren't allowed to open it or see it until the last minute...looking forward to 9/14.

At least it looks like the box is corrugated for extra strength. I don't fancy knocking £200 off the price for a damaged corner if/when I sell it. When I get one, my first job is to get a double-walled box made so that it fits perfectly with 1/2" polystyrene sheeting on all sides for additional protection - it will be going in hiding for a few years! I intent to sell it for enough to cover the cost of the one I build.

I plan on buying one with a damaged box at a good discount.

I don't think I can fit that in my car. May need to cab it. Jeez!

Come to think of it, will it fit through my loft hatch? Car's not a problem as I have a Skoda Superb Estate ;-)
