so let's recap:

we are getting a cool VIP Star Wars Falcon card

a scarif trooper exclusive poly bag (ummm ok whatever -lol)

cardboard wheels(probably in store)

and one heck of a nice Box with over 7500 pieces to build something rediculously fun and collectable

1f636.png1f37a.png1f44d.pngnot too shabby

Isn't the Scarif Trooper poly only for 1-3 Sep.

As for the VIP MF card, I'd be happy if they truly were limited to just the first batch of 75192 purchases...and maybe even metal?

You are one of millions of fans with different opinions and tastes. You speak only for yourself. There are many people out there who will want the 10179, just like there are fans of old Technic sets or Classic Space sets. The 10179 will find its groove again one day. To me, my MISB 10179 is no different today as it was yesterday. Same iconic set.

I know, hence the repeated usage of the word "I" in my post.

for me this set is a building project for the family

I have no goals for it to appreciate or to sell later

I am buying it for our family to have fun

have been waiting several years for this now

it is better than I could have hoped

yes I sell LEGO too .....

maybe I will buy some some day to hold and sell

but for now it is all about it being a toy

thank you LEGO !!!!! :)

Thank you for this list. However, I think there's at least one Lego MF rendition that needs added. I believe it was in the 75097 2015 SW advent calendar. It's really small, but for a completist it still counts. It's little copies like this that are easy to miss. I'd be interested in knowing if there are other small ones similar to this one.

There was a free mini Falcon build at Barnes and Noble for Star Wars Reads day in either 2014 or 2015. And mini Falcon builds at the last two Star Wars Celebrations. The 2015 Celebration in Anaheim had a printed display base. 2017 Celebration in Orlando had a display base with no printing. All three are the same build or really close...and all three are sitting in my office. :)

Short term, the 10179 has and will continue to suffer a price decline. I think everyone can agree on this.

Long term though, the used and bricklinked 10179's stand to lose the most since they lost most of their collectable appeal because of the reissue. Only the mint unopened boxes will go on to appreciate once the sellers dry up. I would love to pick up a mint 10179 more than I would the new falcon (for collection). It all depends on how low the price goes...

Of course if I can get my hands on a new one with a good discount, then I would buy one to build, and buy a few to keep :) Hopefully Costco Canada gets them in stock, they like to discount 25/30% the big sets.

Dunno if you made that meme, but you missed a golden opportunity "For everything else there's LEGO VIP Card" .. lol.

Eleven sets in all plus the two other things for completeness...

4488, 4504, 7190, 7778, 7965, UCS 10179,  the 75030 Microfighter, 75105 and now 75192,  plus a minibuild from the Lego Star Wars magazine (SW911607) and a mini build at TRU.

There was also a Key Ring (852113) and a Messenger Bag (5001050).

It also shows up in micro form in the 2011, 2015 and 2017 Advent Calendars.

Fun fact, the 2011 version is almost the perfect size to fit on the back of UCS ISD to recreate the scene from ESB.

The mad rush to the bottom has already started on eBay. 2 UK listings, the lowest at £830 BIN, so take off the eBay fee (£ 84.50) and then the Paypal fee (£ 28.93) and the sellers gross profit is a measly £ 76.57  -  There are some complete and utter idiots out there....

Do you know they actually paid full RRP, though? Could be a scammer, could have a Lego discount or could have used VIP points. Maybe they also have a special FVF promo. I mean idiocy would be the number one suspicio but there are other possibilities.

I just got an email notification from Lego, found that this 75192 is insanely priced at $799.99 at U.S. for being released on Oct 1, 2017. After seeing this, I actually feel super turned off by Star Wars sets instead......the idea of investing in SW sets are not as appealing.........it's only getting worse as time goes by when they keep remaking sets just in different sizes, etc. I like Star Wars, but not enough to pay $800 on a set like this. Maybe I am over-reacting...please don't judge me.

I am seriously thinking of investing in other themes that have lesser likelihood of having so many remakes.......

You're reacting as if Lego's mission statement is to fuel the investor market.

they are going to do what is right for them and what they believe will work for consumers.

(though I agree on the worsening  attractiveness to investors: it makes investing harder, though not impossible, just throws the remake question into the mix so you can no longer hold sets indefinitely)

I feel somewhat being judged upon regarding what I just posted on this thread......

It´s probably advisable to be thick skinned if you are going to make a negative comment about a set that many people are drooling over and have been waiting years to get!

My take on it is that TLG have observed how prices on the secondary market went crazy and decided they wanted a slice of that market too. THey realised there were now enough people willing to pay over 500 USD for a single set that they could produce their own mega sets and be successful (early UCS sets were not great sellers and tended to have shorter lives). This has been hugely damaging for the secondary market as now buyers have much more attractive new sets for the same price or less than the classics. Also, they know the classics are likely to be be remade soon and with a better look than the original.

There is now just so much choice on the market  - if we can add the Chinese fakes to the mix for the cheapskates, then the potential for reselling large sets at a good profit is ever diminishing. 75192 at 800 $ is a crazy investment unless you bet on a quick flip due to supply issues. The same set at 400/ 500 does make more sense, though.

Thanks Val-E. I guess now I know why I got judged and misunderstood....I didn't mean to criticize any particular set of MF, I was mainly blowing off steams on seeing so many remakes of the same item at different sizes. I apologize to all audience if I sounded like I am criticizing any set of MF at any rate.

I was and still am well aware of Lego not having a mission statement of fueling investors. Meanwhile there are more than one person in this world investing in Lego for having a return, and not all of the investors are scammers.

peace out.
