There is no doubt this is great news for the kids in all of us, but as a collector and investor, this represents a sea change in the investing landscape.

I am getting one Day 1 too.

Maybe this is the right spot to place my latest BrickPicker YouTube video.

"Lego Investing: Are Buying Big Sets the Best Investment"

I just finished watching your video and I have to agree with those salient points regarding the drop in the large sets.  I was fortunate that the modulars I own I got at more than 30% off rather than full retail and have no duplicates aside from a discounted Pet Shop. The nature of the game has indeed changed.  Now, if only I had more shelf room or space larger than an apartment.

I love this set already.  I don't have 10179, so this is definitely a day 1 buy for me.  Not sure where I can display it though.  I might have to convince my daughter the town we're building needs to be converted into a space port...

I have the perfect spot!  Where my 10179 sits.

Well hot damn I was wrong about the interior... I don't normally like compromises like this (i.e. not a full interior) but so far it seems LEGO did this one properly. Some key interior spaces, roomy enough to fit the minifigs. They obviously aren't intended for "play" but it does give many display options.

Now, where can I fit this thing to display it....

So many kids are going to be disappointed when their parents tell them to bugger off after seeing the price.

That 16+ age sticker is there for a very good reason.
