The box doesn't do it for me. I generally like clean designs, but there's something about this that doesn't even feel like a LEGO set.  That won't be all the minifigs, but it won't be much more. Probably 7-8 standard minifigs along with 2-3 brick-built droid/molded kind of things.

It's funny how opinions vary...I really like the look of the box.   Looks more serious like earlier UCS boxes.  Not goofy like the Sandcrawler.

Yeah it's a very slick box like the Technic Porsche - I guess they are trying to appeal to an older audience (CEOs) that can actually afford an $800 Lego set

I don't like that if a random person were to see this in some store that wasn't a LEGO Store, and the tiny LEGO logo was blocked by a shelf or something, from even 5 feet away they wouldn't know what they're looking at.  It looks more like the cover of a book or something like that.

That's why I like it...It looks like a serious and adult item, not some kid's toy with dorky laser beam graphics and dopey sunset.   LOL.

Exactly. Ultimately, I like to collect LEGO sets, not plastic model kits. I want the box to look like a LEGO set. Part of the problem is probably that the build is so massive that it takes away from the obvious LEGO qualities of the Falcon. Older boxes that were black were clean looking, but still had minifigures or obvious studs visible in the front image.

I really think there should be no picture on the box...Just a huge black shiny box with some cool platinum font and a UCS badge of some sort with a small LEGO logo in the corner.  Maybe an outlined or shadow like image of the Falcon.  It should be the classiest and coolest box of all time.

I have plenty of LEGO sets.  I want special.

It was certainly the best QFLL during my time. Even when selling some for £419.99  ;-)

Oh yeah, that's a nice one.

I think the picture of the box may not capture how nice the box really is if it's real. A nice black matte, with some shine to the artwork would look pretty nice. And who knows whats on the other sides.

regarding the minifigures.

10179 only had 5... so 4 on this doesn't sound beyond the realms of possibility. though it would be really disappointing

To Include only 4 rather bland looking minifigs (in an $800 set) would seem like a very poor business decision - but then again, LEGO has shown the ability of doing stupid.

They are already giving you the biggest. They don't care about giving you the best or the coolest. Saving them for next time.

Speaking of the death star, I mean it'd only be fitting for the Falcon to atleast come with more figs than it. Almost double the retail price and piece count, and it's just gonna look really stupid if the Falcon comes with a fifth the amount of minifigures. I'm banking on like half of the back of the box just being several rows of minifigures. I want to believe they'd have the sense to put 20+ in it.

Off topic but could I ask was the mosaic worth it? Heading to London in December and debating whether to get one.

They are £100 each but I do like mine, if you are going to do it make sure you book!

In regards to the supposed reveal of the MF on Friday do we know what kind of time during the day it's going to be?

Lalala not looking.. but from a glance I'm not a huge fan of the box? Weird black border.

Also looks like I won the guessing game so far... August 30th... roughly 7500 pieces... minifigures line up so far...
