LEGO Chima BOX - The Largest set which was a Prize for competition which was won by 2 lucky lego enthusiasts.

They know how to screw someone's life.

They're probably thinking "now what do we do with this.."

Nothing UCS on the  BB8 box. I guess it will be a playset available in all the regular channels.

Just like the r2 box. Where it is officially or not when you do it in the exact style people are gonna line it up next to it.

3rd prize was the Chima box plus the full Nexo range.

True, but the way TLG have been slapping UCS stickers left right and centre since then, you would think they´d do the same. Brickset don´t have it listed as retail limited either.

The hypemachine is on full speed. To be honest, I have never seen LEGO hyping anything as much as this set.

Apollo hype was pretty bad but too but it worked. Minecraft mountain was also a bit tedious.

If you are going to hype a set, might as well be the biggest and baddest of all time.  Although, the wording of the LEGO statement could be indicative of a set larger than the 10179, but smaller than the Taj Mahal, which would be disappointing.

Seeing some discounts on 10179's now starting to come through. If there's a downward spiral as people panic and want to offload will look to pick one up on the cheap

I am not sure that discount or cheap are the most appropriate words to describe a set going for 3-4 times RRP of 500 USD. Still, let´s see what happens after January.

hmmm.  i wonder what the box dimensions of that Chima set?  Could it be the same box size of the new UCS MF?

" from bricklink: Two copies of this set were produced as prizes in a LEGO contest which ended October 30th, 2015. The sets were packaged in the actual box shown in the catalog image. Online photos show that one winner opened the set and built the models and the second winner was photographed with an unopened box. To date, this set was the largest LEGO set known to be released in a single box."

It's just a really big co-pack, though.

Whoever has the guts to open this "largest ever" set should weigh the bricks to see if they are in fact getting more mass of plastic or just lots of smaller pieces. I somehow doubt that this will be an early VIP release as stock will run out (within the hour?) by the time it's available to all.

LEGO underestimated demand for 21309 and I think they will for this too.

Whatever happens..... I will NEVER pay more than £342.49 for a 10179.

If anyone wants to sell me their 10179 for £342.49 PM me! I may even stretch it to a nice round £350! :-)

Shall we have a game to predict when the first leaked photo of the real box will surface? If early release is Sept 14th then I´d say by 29th August we should have something.
