Personally, I'd do it. Your upside is that you missed out on what, about $500 if this spikes above $2,000 before Christmas? You're able to flip a quick profit here, and make a repeat buyer happy. Your downside is that stock hits the store and LEGO Shop at Home and stays in stock for the next 5 years, and you can't sell above MSRP. There are of course outlier results that could happen, but how likely are they?

I just received an offer for my MF from a former client , $1500 plus shipping.... deal or no deal??

I would say deal considering you can never argue having profit and cash available. The moment you buy back another set you will be smiling. I have learn from past experience is that missing a deal feels worse.

I'll probably regret this, but I'm going to wait until back order comes in to put feelers out. The one sitting in the corner of my room...that I drove 3.5 hours for in the middle of the night (after my wife yelled at me for being "irresponsible and stupid", got in line at 4 am, was escorted out of the mall at 6 am, but was still 1st in line (didn't get anything special)...we have a special bond! I am resigned to the fact that this "early production " doesn't mean anything, but it still has a special place in my heart, and wallet!

We'll see. I will at least be able to get my money back sooner or later.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of the time I've been wasting refreshing my order status 274 times a day once it does ship.....

Well, I sold all four of my Gingerbread Houses on Amazon FBA for $709. Missed my goal of paying for the MiLF with free Lego, but close!

That sounds like daylight robbery. Good job.

Depends how you input the 600 mile trip into your costing.

So it seems that customer support is pretty clueless.

So I already have one, but just for kicks I had a few moments and decided to call LEGO customer support and ask when I might be able to place an order. On the first two calls the service agent only told me they would be getting them available as soon as possible. But they have no date known.

The third call led me to someone who said they will appear here and there in store to try and get some on the shelves while they continue sending out the back orders, but likely won't open back up for online or phone orders until 2018 due to the massive backlog of sets they need to create. He may have no idea what he is talking about, but with one sealed at home the profit margin would climb the closer it gets to Christmas if no new orders are available. It will make for a holly jolly Christmas whether I keep it for me, or the price jumps so much that I can get my next one for free.

your latter comment seems plausible . since evidence does show inventory has been popping up consistantly across stores yet here i am along with many others still waiting for our sept 14th order to ship  tells me they have a huge back order shoe to fill. if this is another Saturn V repeat. the pre-Christmas rush would be quite lucrative to participate.

Hey ed or anyone else who's been here a while. From the long term investment point of view I'm wondering if I should buy a second falcon  or buy the retired star destroyer set 10030. I'm a hardcore collector and have a few sets for investments but I also build. If I bought 10030 I would build which would cut the value in half. I just recently found your site And have seen that some of my past "investments" may have not been so good. I.e Porsche and bat mobile. Just wondering what you guys you guys think. Also might it be better to start spending my big dollars going back and getting my desired ucs sets or not. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

I would not start investing in 75192 at the moment.  The set could be around for years.  Buy one to build, then wait for sales.  The 10030 is a classic set, but is probably not a good bet either.  A possible remake is always a factor.  Along with knockoffs, there are a lot of reasons to stay away from that set.  Honestly, I would wait for the 10179 market to crater, then buy them...especially the "First Edition" sets.  Just my opinion....

Is that the market for useless pieces of cardboard or the plastic bricks one?

If it´s the first one then cardboard manufacturers will be delighted. If it´s the second, don´t worry, Lego will keep pumping these sets out till everyone owns one.

For me, it´s pure rarity value and when neither element is rare anymore, the price will crash down. AFter retirement the same. As everyone will hoard these now, it will have poor performance due to oversupply.

Hasn't the LEGO primary and secondary markets always been about cardboard and useless ABS plastic?

Just get an extra large doily to hide it until it's time for cash money.

Obviously, if a lucky person has one or two right now to flip, that would be a home run.  Six months from now, it might be a whole new ballgame.

6 months it's game over.  Better flip ASAP
