there are few aspects that you are probably missed meantime.
MILF was already gone when he realized what's going on. Conversation with CS took additional extra minutes, when CS representative see the red dot in system under 75192 everything she can say is: "I'm sorry but the item is OOS, I can't make this disposition for you"

Maybe in US this type of thing is working differently but in EU CS can't give you any explanation why you became flagged without creating ticket to the tech support.

Making an extra account  just for VIP membership using another CC won't change anything, he is short of 2k USD now and the last thing he will eventually do is risking another 1k.

My point was... you keep beating this dead horse about 'they can't tell me WHY' - MOVE ON!  It's not about 'why' - its about WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO CORRECT THIS.  That's where the energy should have been focused.  Yes of course a random CS agent isn't going to be able to make a Falcon appear out of no where... but you could probably get some other form of compensation or advance to actually work towards getting the Falcon later.

The guy isn't going to lose his 2k.  The charges will simply be undone once the system works through it's steps of reversing the order.

Honestly I have no idea what you are going on about in these posts.  The transaction got flagged... going around and around isn't going to change that.  It's done.  Focus on what will be done BECAUSE it was done in error.  That's the difference between good and bad customer service.

The 'grey piece of junk' and space are certainly limiting factors - but have not held back 10179 from being a set that was greatly desired.  It thins the herd, but did not cripple it's market demand.

I guess with just 20,000 copies, things can be pretty ugly before they cripple market demand. All I can say is that 10179 was apparently greatly desired by more than 20,000 people worldwide.

But without such a limit, well... hard to say, really. I do not know what targets Lego has set for itself and when they consider the new Falcon a succes. Maybe they consider it a success if it crashes their website on day one and everybody talks about that.

I do know however that I do not really care whether the thing is rare. I care how it looks, and whether I can display it somewhere. And then price just has to be somewhat in line with normal brick prices. You see, I am in the market for 75192, but I was not in the market for 10179 because it was far too expensive to get my hands on. So we are talking about different markets, and it is hard to tell whether they get crippled by the same thing or not.

Congrats to all the collectors that were able to get one on the early release.

It may not be available during the official release, Oct 1 or during the upcoming Oct 2017 double VIP but not to fret as I said earlier this set will probably be a long term set like the UCS DS and will be available in masses at some point for every other future double VIP offer.

Moving on for the next updated set --> an updated version of the UCS SD set.

Pretty cool 10179 and 75192 comparison pic I found on Facebook.

as great as 10179 is, it looks totally dated next to 75192.

Although I think 10179 still has some superior design aspects over 75192 like the entire rear exhaust (no blue hoses), both side escape hatches (too small on the new one), little rear fins look better built using plates and the 5 black round vents on the rear (all those black grills do is increase part count).

Well, my call to Customer Service paid off (I was frustrated, but very nice to the guy, I figured his day was going pretty bad regardless).

After receiving the cancellation email yesterday morning due to payment error, Brian in CS was very helpful and said the system was crazy all morning and he was sure it was an error on their part (it was - I used the same shipping address and credit card I have used for years).

Went into "In Warehouse" status yesterday afternoon and just received a shipment email with tracking (fingers crossed).

New plan: finish selling last three Gingerbread Houses on FBA to cover full cost of MiLF. Sold one already for $219.

WOW!!! Three gingerbread houses for the new MF... Nice work!

My set is in Romeoville, IL.  Friggin Romeoville, IL.  I have no idea where that is but it's apparently not that far away!  I wish I could just PICK it up instead of waiting for it tomorrow.  Ah!!

Same, must be their distribution warehouse.  However mine isn't past "label created", so no estimated date.

few stores getting in small drop shipments of 2 per if you feel like checking in with them.  For the callers out there.

Legoland CA getting 6 is comical @Alpinemaps  glad to see they are doing it at all there locations.  Stupidly low initial runs of exclusives.  Then they ship a pallet or 2 about a month later when no one wants them anymore

Well, from the "what did a LEGO employee tell me file" the two I spoke with today said "we were told it will be months before we get more."

My online order is in the "Waiting for More Stock" status, sadly....

Has anyone had their "Waiting for More Stock" status change from "Waiting" to "Preparing to Ship"?

I doubt it, but if someone has had this happen it will give me some hope... :-) Wonder how long we'll be stuck in that limbo. I wish I knew where my particular order was in the queue.

I think the only people who care about how 'rare' a set are speculators.  The vast majority are buying based on their desire for the set itself.  I think 10179 earned it's place based on it's scale and what it was... far more than anything to do with it's production run.  The price increases afterwards were a factor of interest in the set... and afterwards I bet a good portion of the inflation was purely due to the speculators jumping in.  Too much speculation creates it's own fake market bubble... and creates additional resistance to prices sliding.

I just read on Facebook from someone who talked to some LEGO reps, they said that those who waited for double VIP points (me!) are probably out of luck and all of the backorders won't be done until Nov 8th at the earliest.

Damn it!

That's why I jumped on the Build and Learn freebie while I could.

If anyone is working on a wall mount so I can put this thing on my wall when I inevitably get it, please share your plans and pics!!

I've been doing some research, I plan to wallmount it so it is not parallel to the wall, but rather "flying", so that complicates things.  Need to get it in hand (and finished) before I can see possible mounting points, etc. I'll shoot you a PM so I remember your contact info

You might still be ok. There should still be Nov and Dec double points opportunities. That's what I'm waiting out for. I just want to make sure I get one of those special VIP cards for the promos next year.

I'd like it as soon as possible..... rather not wait til then.

I seriously did not think this thing would be this hyped. I thought the price would put off a few people.

i can't think of anything in the universe that would have been more predictably hyped than a new much improved UCS MF, the price of which is lower than even the lowest selling 10179.

think of the thousands of people who always wanted a 10179 but it was out of their reach, a few thousand dollars.  now you have this new improved one for $800!!!- its a bargain to a star wars lego fan.

it is hardly surprising the response its received.  we're already on page 141 of this thread.  go back to the mindnumbing idle e-chit chat during the F5 hours lead up til sale time and you'll get a sense of the depth of interest in this set.

my prediction is 75192 stays out of stock and unorderable until mid February.

now that the horde has a whiff of the money this can bring in and people start posting how much they are selling them for, that will further fuel insatiable demand.  when people can sell their spot in line for $200,  it will remain difficult to obtain even when there is stock.

Come on, you know they have to fulfil all those Nexo and Escort Girls orders first, so Wal-Mart can clear them at 3 cents ASAP.

I am not so sure about your statement that it is only speculators that care about how rare a set is. In the end everybody is more or less susceptible to status, and having a rare unobtainable object displayed in your house provides that. If you have such a thing in your house you are not necessarily a speculator.

It is very difficult to establish why anybody has interest in some object. In particular in this period of hype and the speculation going on with the old model. The nice thing about a van Gogh painting is that the original designer is no more. If you care about status that is. If you just like the design, you can get a poster or maybe some painting-by-number box if you want some "building experience".

And I am not quite sure whether a lot of buyers now think they are buying a van Gogh, and after a few months realise that they have put this painting-by-number thing on display.
