  1. 1. When will you buy your first 75192 UCS Falcon?

    • First day VIP early access purchase.
    • 2x VIP promo in October 2017.
    • Wait for discount of between 10%-19%.
    • Wait for discount between 20%-29%.
    • Wait for discount of at least 30%.
    • Wait until it shows solid signs of retiring.
    • No plans to buy this set.

In the last 5 years or so, I honestly cant remember buying anything from the Lego Store without some sort of discount, double VIP points, and/or free gift. I really don't want to start now, especially with the most expensive set ever.

After seeing the set displayed in store this morning some of the mystique of all this hype has worn off for me. Unless there's something special for launch-day or they make the first run numbered or similar, I may just wait out until the discounts/deals become available.

Right now I have a long list of sets to purchase and a backlog of sets to built. I haven't even picked up the Snowspeeder yet!

But.....I really do want this set. Even my wife wants me to buy it for "our collection". I've come close on two separate occasions to picking up a 10179 recently.

Upon release you will get the set packed inside the outer box, It wont be even unboxed on front of you just to scan the code, the code will be outside so lego employee will hand you over the box with those wheels directly. Those cubic retail boxes will be only for Display Purposes.

Is that something they have done in the past?

Nah, and it would not make sense to do it either. People have the misconception that purchases with VIP points are free. No, they are not, you have already paid for those points.  If you pay with those points, all it means is that you paid for the set in advance over time.

Since if you buy a set from LEGO the price is this: cost of set + VIP points. With basic VIP, when you pay $20 for a set, what you actually do is that you buy a set for $19 and $1 worth of VIP points, which you can spend later. (You are actually depositing money at LEGO on which you do not earn any interest hahahha.)

I saw the box. Size is 53x46x38cms.

For the US non-mathematicians like myself, that's 20.87 x 18.11 x 14.96 if those center-meters are correct.

In comparison, the 10188 DS box is 23 x 23.5 x 6.7 and 10179 is 25.4 x 18.8 x 7.8

So, who is going to crack and get one on the first day?

Who will sit it out till their are better offers?

Who doesn´t care for this set?

Will probably get one on day 1 mainly due to signing session in Leicester sq. But still hopeful for some sort of day 1 promo to really swing it. Otherwise would wait for better deals such as VIP promo, AFOL day or deals in exchange for submitting a MOC.

NO WAY am I buying on day one. Way to risky (and bulky) to quick flip, so plain and simple there is just no incentive to buy it on day one. We should see decent discounts and I would certainly hope for a BETTER promo for an $800 purchase. Still can't believe how little effort was put into such an anticipated set. But I shouldn't be surprised (DEATH STAR).

From a personal collector's standpoint: I saw it built in a Lego B/M store about an hour away from me.  Looks very impressive.  And while it has a large price-point, compare it to the visual impact of 10255 Assembly Square ($280+tax) coupled with the necessary 'Disney' tax... not a bad price.  I definitely don't get any set at 'full price' - simply because LEGO doesn't fix it's prices (sales going on all the time).  I'm good with waiting until October 2xVIP, but ONLY if the special VIP card incentives are high enough... and as of now, I don't know what those perks are (supposedly special deals / access / etc. per the Lego Store manager I spoke with - but no details provided).

I buy it if there is going to be a good promo with it. Otherwise wait for a discount. I have neither time or space to build these at the moment.

I feel pretty much the same. I don't really want to deal with the hassle of storing and shipping something of this size from a selling perspective. I will probably buy one at some point to build with my kids, but I'm in no hurry for that. I have a bunch of other sets to build with them, and they're too small to be really eager about this one right now. I think my daughter would rather build the BB-8 that I bought on FFII. I'll wait for at least a good promo and hopefully a discount at some point in the future.

Same for me... Buy 1-5, at day one, but only if there is some kind of limited run. The set has to have a collective value added, not some stupid promo where you get a free 20$ set or figurine.

Long term, I will buy multiple at 30% off slowly over the course of the next 10 years ;)

A lot of choices for this poll.  For me, well, it's quite simple: when my girlfriend lets me.

You can only have so much space to hide a box or set that size without someone noticing...

i have a feeling that Lego will not allow the use of vip points towards this.

I optimistically disagree...especially since they are offering an exclusive Vip card specifically for this set if you buy it.
