CM4Sci
Sir von LEGO, one of the most reliable guys on here says we're getting sets next summer. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/152123-lego-nexo-knights-2018/&do=findComment&comment=2843804 There also may or may not be an accompanying CMF Series... 3 1
Dr Jedi
I really hope this doesn't just end up being a line of Fantastic Beasts sets. And if we do get really HP sets - please give us a UCS-level Hogwarts!
Guest TabbyBoy
I missed out on the original HP line as I wasn't collecting then. I'd like a Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and Hogwarts Express. But I assume that the hoarders of these sets don't.
CM4Sci
Just now, TabbyBoy said: I missed out on the original HP line as I wasn't collecting then. There's so much HP stuff to make into sets but we just keep getting the same sets. Maybe we'll get a better Hagrid, too.

Not if the upcoming Yoda's Hutt is an indicator On diff topic, I bet the IP for the HP world is insane. So I'm expecting the sets to be smaller than the last series to maintain responsible MSRP costs. Plus why make non-exclusive expensive sets if there's nothing new with HP in theaters, books or TV that Little Johnny's parents can buy to maintain interest. 1
Stud-Flipper
Is there something new Harry Potter? Maybe just a coincidence but I was at a book store recently and like a quarter of the store was devoted to HP merch, but that may be usual. DadsAFOL
I don't know. The Instagram guy published every page of the 2018 retailers book and it wasn't in there. I'll believe it when i see it....

I am also in the bucket of people who just missed out on the last wave of sets, and have two kids under ten, and Harry Potter is amazingly sticky with them. The movies are available off and on through Netflix, etc, books are still popular....Lego has to look at the aftermarket prices from the final wave and know there is interest. A 2500+ pc Hogwarts would be a day 1 purchase for me. Probably better for my wallet if they don't make anything.

We'll get our first official look in about 6 months (if they show them at the Toy Fairs.. which I doubt... seeing as there are over 50 hidden items in today's catalog)
nolanfan34
This all makes me excited so I blame CM4Sci if this doesn't come true, but a CMF series would be amazing. So many characters that need to be made.
Sprocket77
This is much more like it, decent themes have been a bit light on the ground this year after the end of Jurassic World and Scooby Doo last year. This is something that will appeal to a huge market.

feed
From the harry potter wiki site. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - released on November 18, 2016 with the screenplay released the following day.[3] Film two - set to be released 16 November, 2018, title yet to be revealed.[4] Film three - set to be released 20 November, 2020, title yet to be revealed.[5] Film four - release date (likely to be in 2022) and title yet to be revealed.[7][8] Film five - release date (likely to be in 2024) and title yet to be revealed.[7][8] Seems like there's plenty of reason to release new and old HP sets in 2018. Val-E
I think we have a valid replacement for Nexo.

You do know it’s comments like that, that make people think you’re not being serious. Anyway, guess they’ll adopt the SW model. Movie sets around for 18/24 months or so and original movie sets in more or less permanent rotation. First movie release 2001 and book release 1997, so helpful 20/25yr anniversary dates falling in inside that schedule.

Harry Potter and Jurassic are incoming for 2018 so some themes are going to have go as well to make room. I´d get rid of Nexo (3 year product cycle), Super Escort Girls (too limited appeal) and TLBM (movie is done) but I´m not the Lego CEO - yet they seem to have shorter lifecycles than the products do these days, so you never know.

Current info is that we’re getting Nexo (but the schedule may be switched with Ninjago – to capitalise on the movie) but no DC girls. Is there not another TLBM CMF series in the works? (I don't pay much attention to CMF anymore) but I can see a drop in production of the sets. So that's probably the capacity.
Val-E
Yeah, seems in Europe we will get Nexo early next year but the US market won´t till the summer. I still think they could pull an Ultra Agents on us and cancel the theme in the summer.

If TLG give the same love to these themes as they have done with the Ninjago Movie stuff then we will be in for a really good year. If it´s just derivative rehashes then they will continue to flounder on gradually losing steam.

(Id really rather have a proper Castle and/or Space line. This should be a no brainer for LEGO) I missed Harry Potter the first few rounds of releases. My daughter loves the books and movies and when I told her of this rumor she said "you have to buy every single set for me" which I likely would if Lego releases them--because who cares about retirement when you can add to your brick collection. Which means I would need 2 of each. With that being said I too would like to see some castle or space lines pop up. I still love my Blacktron set and I figure castle sets would provide some great background with my LOTR/HOBBIT sets--especially if they are like 10193. t_mafia
So I take it that this does not include the rumored D2C castle/great hall? If anyone is curious, brickset lists set 71043 as "Hogwarts Castle" as a D2C in 2018, so possibly 6 sets total? I have to say I will be disappointed if it is only the great hall instead of a whole castle
