Makeup artist of the first three Star Wars movies died yesterday.

Not really related to Lego, but Stuart Freeborn died Wednesday at the age of 98. He helped create Yoda, Chewbacca, the Ewoks, Jabba the Hutt, and the Wampa in the first three SW movies. He was instrumental in designing/building these iconic Star Wars characters. May the Force be with him. R.I.P. Wow, to almost be a hundred years old.... That's as impressive as his resume. Oliver Twist The Bridge on the River Kwai 2001: A Space Odyssey The Omen Superman I-IV Just to name a few. Rest in peace, Stuart Freeborn. You are an inspirational legend.

Yep, he was a legend even before Star Wars. A real pioneer and gamechanger. 98 is a good effort though.

I imagine his reaction to when Hollywood went all CGI vs using Puppetry. I still can not imagine having to watch a 2 hour movie of CGI Yoda in the spin-off movie based on his character.
