scythanith Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I just completed building one and I love it. Of course made some bonehead mistakes deep in the snot backing and had to peel some apart to fix it but hey, that's LEGO Quote
Manse1001 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 John Lewis are still holding stock...Sent from my SM-G950F using Brickpicker Forum mobile app 1 Quote
Dr Jedi Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Still in stock at the US LEGO Shop at Home Quote
Phil B Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 They're just depleting their stock to make it more difficult to get the 60yr promo at the end of the month 1 1 Quote
richiej1979 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Well if it's gone, I'm going to speculate that this set will hit £300 very quickly. Quote
Captain_chaos Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I just can't believe that this will retire so soon. Are there any examples of sets that went C2C, then came back and remained on sale for months / years more? Quote
richiej1979 Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Looking forward to calling customer services on Monday. ? Quote
JRandall Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 lol, with the success of this set people actually believe it's going to be retired anytime in the next year without multiple future production runs?! Quote
mtchrs Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Does anyone know if Lego put a number on the sets produced for each Ideas set? (due to the creator getting a percentage per sale I thought there could be a cut off)If so this set would be at its limit for sure. 1 Quote
Furious_george Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 This set will be limited to how many they can sell. 1 Quote

andyposterfan Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) Average life is about 15months? adventure time had 12 months YS had 14 months ecto 1 had 18 months so earliest Saturn 1 can go is April, but as late as December? Edited January 14, 2018 by andyposterfan Quote
Furious_george Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) Yep I’m probably a bit off with my time but you get the drift. More knowledgeable members will have the correct info. Ecto would have been a very good seller so I’d expect that sort of time frame. Edited January 14, 2018 by Furious_george Quote

mtchrs Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 It also went to sold out late December and came back. Strange things happening with this set, or Lego is toying with us.. 1 Quote
andyposterfan Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Let's put it another way. We all k ow the clock is ticking on this set. We could have as soon as April (unlikely) or as late as year-end. Neither way there's enough certainty to start acquiring these when you feel the time is right for price / promos. I can't see it being discounted though. not many non-lego retailers for this set in the Uk. Just John lewis and another I believe? Quote
Val-E Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 It would be hilarious if this became the Tower Bridge of the IDEAS range. I wonder if they put a maximum earnings cap on the designer´s commission. Quote

Only John Lewis and the other store have it in stock though. Quote

Guest TabbyBoy Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I'm starting to feel a little smugness coming on. John Lewis now have 20 less ;-) Quote

I think Research Institute and Mars Rover were the hardest to get so far. If LEGO agreed on a set amount of 21309 to produce as part of their contract with the designer, why not pull it if it's reached? They need production space for all the Star Warts and Pooper Heroes crap. If people are now panicking on not having enough 21309, point the blame at the mirror, there's been more than enough opportunities. Quote
