Ideas #017: 21309/92176 - NASA Apollo Saturn V

Our LEGO store just re-opened Sunday after a couple months of remodeling.  I guess the place flooded.  I can buy about as many  of any set I want since none have been sold during that time.  I've got six of these I'm going to send to FBA.  Thinking I might go and grab a couple from the store tomorrow.

The Oklahoma City store?

you can't with negative balance.

owner claimed Unauthorised Activity and my money are gone.

so if someone will ever ask me whether "Fruitcakes are running rampant"? my answer will be simple.

Had the same issue on 18 Feb from Ferenc Cseki of Hungary.  Sold him Lego 42043 Technic MERCEDES-BENZ AROCS.

About 90 days latter when the page disappears from ebay, I got the Unauthorised Claim.  Sooo relieved when I saw it was Unauthorised.  Sent PayPal the tracking info (sold through GSP on eBay) and eventually got my money back.  Seller Protection cos shipped as directed.

I think Paypal might be out of pocket in this case as it looks like Paypal were still fighting the case against the bank and the update said someone like cant fight it any longer.

SO END TRACKING INFO and you will get money back within a month.

Looked at my scammers ebay username history and he's changed it every year for the last three years....serial scammer possibly?

Back to topic.  Not bought any Saturns as waiting for the big discount.

+350% more listings since monday on local Polish e-commerce "ebay a like" website.
Cheapest one about 125% of RPP.

Hmmm... 125% of RRP - this won't even cover fees and income tax on eBay. I think these sellers will regret selling so cheap in two years time. I plan to sell one in 2019 to pay for the one I gave to my local school and the one I'll build over Xmas. Lot's of sellers still don't realise that lots of other sellers mean meagre profit, if any at all. This is one of those rare sets where you need to waiti it out for a bit longer. I still have thousands of other sets to sell, but I'm not even considering it until the competition has died down.

I know, I know, I know.... I'm out of the game, but I still have a vast inventory to offload when the time comes.

@TabbyBoy those people are just common folks, not the ones who are looking at the whole thing as a lego resellers. They've got all those sets from LIMIT 5 orders and now trying to offload them. This website charges you 5% of the transaction and shipping in Poland is about 4 times cheaper than in UK using same carrier as DPD DHL etc. Sending Apollo in Poland will cost you 3GBP (DHL) in UK 12+ for same carrier. So for those guys 125% RPP makes the same sense like 135~140% in UK. about same profit.

Even though fees are only 5%, is any seller protection offered at all? I ask is that a lorry driver buddy often goes back to Krakow with a half-load so you can guess what I'm thinking ;-) I no longer use eBay for selling LEGO so I need to research other outlets.

Send out the bayliffs like every other company you owe money?

Yes, PayPal will NOT hesitate to retrieve funds. I once forgot to add funds to refund a buyer about 5 years ago and PayPal actually sent me a very nasty hand-delivered letter demanding me to top up my PayPal account within 7 days. It was only for £2.99!

If you piss off PayPal, be prepared to lose and lose big!

In The Netherlands on Marktplaats I see listings offering NISB between €135 and €150. The Dutch RRP of this set is €129,99 by the way. Presumably those sellers got the sets from Germany (at €119,99) so they make a small profit that way. It's customary to exclude shipping costs when listing on Marktplaats, which the buyer has to pay extra on top. Listing and selling on Marktplaats is free for casual traders.

There's also a 'Used, built once, complete with box and manual' listing for €100, though it's an auction and bidding will likely go higher than €100.

Poland is actually ONE OF THE the cheapest countries in Europe in terms of RPP price of LEGO at LEGO Shop at Home, for example Fishing Store in Poland costs about 80% of UK RPP.
It's rather narrow market with huge demand of smaller sets (nexo is selling like hot cakes). Look at the price of technic for example the sparking new sets you can now buy for 70% of RPP in Poland, reduce by another 5% fee and here you have the price. So you can see, the market is more difficult if you want to scrub some extra penny from sets. I was trying to offload 10253 for RPP, without luck for 4 months. Got a client for 85% rpp and gave it a go.
There are probably close to zero demand of Modulars. Which are often listed for months. But if you have some rare sets like ISD, and other rather rare sets you can try.

P.S there is no local Facebook Market in Poland nor a seller protection scheme :)
Russian Roulette.

Those who knows what they want are using Brick Link.

I was wondering lately why most of you who are selling extremely large amount of sets annually won't go B2B with Lego.
Able to get 50% off sets immediately after release straight from LEGO for your business. Rather than hunting 3 4 2 buying 100 sets of Dragon whatever that was.

The friend of mine who is running such business in germany told me that he is able to get MILF for 550Eur from Lego. 1st October.

Not always true, 21309 is with 529 zloty about 5 Euro more expensive than RPP in Germany...

TLG have strange rules about who they sell to that vary country by country. In some cases, they will oblige you to buy Nexo, Escort Girls and other turds so any profit you make from the good stuff will be negated. They also have limits to how much you can buy year on year.

It varies country by country, maybe if Poland is a less deveoped Lego market they are less strict.
