justgod Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 So now that we have all these limits placed on the amount of items we can order, I was cruising around the Amazon UK. Low and behold, I found plenty of items where I can only buy 2 in the US but as many as I want from the UK site. I made it all the way to the final Pay screen without the items being removed. Am I missing something or these new restrictions biased? Quote
Jackson Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 How much is the shipping cost for a bigger set from Amazon UK to the United States? Quote
Legodog Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 How much is the shipping cost for a bigger set from Amazon UK to the United States? Shipping is not bad at all. I just put two City Mines (4204) in my cart and the shipping is GBP 6.95. This is also what I paid for shipping 2 Vampyre Castles a couple weeks ago. Quote
Talon Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I've ordered many items from Amazon UK and the shipping charges are quite reasonable. The problem I have had is there are more damaged sets than when I order from Amazon US. It is understandable because of the long distance but I try and take that into account when I order. So far I haven't returned anything because the damaged ones I received I plan on building. As a side note two of the Vampyre Castles I ordered arrived in a trashed box but the sets were fine, I was very surprised! You never know what you are going to get! Quote
justgod Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Shipping charges are the same for me 6.95. However, I don't have to pay CA sales tax on them so I actually save money. Downside is the shipping risk. Amazon UK will let me add as many as I want of the 4204, but the US site won't. WHY???? I call Shenanigans. Quote
CNH1974 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 That's interesting as I have not seen any limits anywhere in the uk. Also I have ordered two items from amazon, one locally in the uk, the other from Spain. Both came within a week and both were in pristine boxes. Maybe it's the airmail handlers who jump on the boxes that go over the Atlantic :) Quote
Orodes Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Being based in the UK it is very hard to seem to be able to order anything from Amazon US, either it says it can't ship to the UK or the costs are sky high. Quote
CNH1974 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 There is no point in ordering anything from outside of the EU are we get hit with import duties for anything over Quote
