jaylay
Just got an email from Synchrony Financial (e.g. The TRU CC people). It says that the 10% off Thursdays is limited time only. Fine print says: 10% Off Thursdays: Valid through 4/30/16. If this is the case, looks like I'll be canceling my TRU CC on 5/1/16 Why? There is no fee for the card!

If the 10% Thursday is over what's the point of keeping the card though? Double points on the rewards whenever you use your card?
Mr_Coat
With the standard 5%-15% markup on most sets, if you can't pair coupons with TRUTH, then literally almost any other store is cheaper to buy from at any time.

Mr_Coat
Right, but again, without TRUTH and coupons, there is little incentive to shop at TRU except for a few exclusives.

jaylay
Well with me as is with others, we have kids and shop for other toys than Legos and not to forget babiesrus.
zskid00
Bricktober deals stacked with coupons and TRUTH/TRUST last year were awesome! Not to mention they have decent clearance deals from time to time. I snagged some Coruscant Police Gunships for $35 late last year and Battle for Ninjago City at 50% off. Speaking of that, the big green clearance stickers are back. I noticed them when I stopped in yesterday.
Mrbigz8657
Say what you want about them but it's the only place I can find two 75060 slave 1's for 335.98. Only at toysrus can I find that deal after discount and gift cards

dday0606
So my store had a bunch of bionicle stuff on clearance and then an extra 20% off on top of that. With TRUTH magic it comes out to about 50% off. I thought long and hard about it but didn't pull the trigger. Anyone else facing this dilemma? The 2x rewards (~8% back) beat VIP (5%), Target RedCard (5%) and Meijer (varies, but 2% is about typical with mperks rewards). Add in price match, polybag promos, better discounted gift cards, and sales that are more frequent than any other B&M and TRU offers me plenty of incentive to shop there. 1 hour ago, belljohn said: Chicken Guy is out at my TRU. For me, having to memorize prices solely for shopping at TRU negates the rewards benefit. I just need a little bit incentive more for the inconvenience... donliu
Went to toys r us today and they said they don't price match Lego.com. i showed them their policy on the website and they were shocked it was there. As i proceeded to pay with my toys r us credit card and they said 10% would not apply. I told them thats weird thats the first time im hearing all of this. They did eventually price match and give me 10%. They said they will make an exception this time. Anyone experience this.

They did do you a favor. YMMV of course, but a supervisor will have to override the cash register transaction in order to implement both.

This discussion happened recently, the 10% is covered by the bank, not TRU itself. And having gone through the fine print, price matching is not excluded from the 10% Thursdays. 1 hour ago, donliu said: Went to toys r us today and they said they don't price match Lego.com. i showed them their policy on the website and they were shocked it was there. I put the item down, went out to my car, looked up TRU's price matching policy and then went back in and showed him. He was surprised, but then price matched for me. The discount won't stack with the price adjustment unless there is an override. Your store might be one of the extra nice ones.
