F TRU in the goat arse right now. I too am sitting on one of those 20% coupons (and gc) but practically nothing is msrp (or, god forbid, on sale) to buy. Went thurs to grab either arkham or an architecture set I need and everything was still over-inflated.
Anyone know when the prices go back to normal?

My store still has a few Indominus Rex at $140. If I had a coupon I'd be using it on that with TRUTH. Would equate to 28% off the flagship set from a popular retiring theme. We will probably never see another Indominus maxi fig.

I've always been able to buy a GC and pay with up to 4 other GC's online.  You can add a electronic gift card and set the amount to whatever value you want.

It usually takes 3 hours or so to process.

You don't get reward points for such purchases (this changed in the last couple of months).

BTW, you can do the same for Target, but you have to purchase at least one other non-GC item.

Follow up: I had a stack of cards that I wanted to consolidate. Used 4 each for each gift card order. Two of them were cancelled with no description. I figured out that the two online gift cards that were cancelled were ones where I paid solely with gift cards while the others I paid a few cents on my credit card to get to a round number. I tried again today online using the "old" GC and added a few cents and they went through and were delivered to my e-mail. Now I know going forward. Just figured I would share in case anyone else ran in to the same problem.

Good to know. I always added a dollar or two and put it on tru cc when I rolled the gift cards. They would give you 2x points on the entire amount. They stopped that nonsense last fall. An evil doer could really mess with them and I'm surprised they let it go on for years.  Well, maybe not too surprised considering the how they run everything else.

Of course I never abused it.

Well, except for that time their system nuked some gift card balances...

I am that 1 guy :P  Why would I want to be under the rule of some Borg Queen after spending forever setting my PC the way I like it :P:P:P ?

Sounds like we have to duke it out come 2051. Still proudly tapping away on IRC here myself :)

Had a bit of a fun at TRU today...

Wanted to buy the Rebel Combat Frigate (75158) for the Ahsoka fig and to part out the rest so my plan was to price match Lego.com and use 2 of my discounted giftcards from my stash to bring the price to a more reasonable place.  In store it was $129.99, Lego.com is 109.99.  The rep at Customer Service INSISTED that they're not allowed to price match Lego.com and I kept showing her the terms on the TRU website.  Eventually she called a manager and he agreed with me once he saw the website.  So that was settled.

Then I wanted to also get the Krypto polybag that was supposed to be free with purchase as per the website and circular.  They didn't have any of the signage for the deal up though, so the manager didn't believe me.  After 20 minutes of him calling back and forth with another manager, he said he'd try to put the polybag through.  It wouldn't scan though because he says I was price matching (don't know if that's true or not).  I told him to forget the polybag, that I would purchase that separately.

He rang me up, price matched to 109.99, scanned my rewards card, and then gave me the TRUTH discount on top of the price match without me asking!  I thought their systems didn't allow price matching and TRUTH to combine?  Ended up getting the Frigate for $87.50 out the door so I'm not gonna complain...

Also, I've bought price matched and non-price matched items at the same time.  Not sure what button they pushed for the price match, but they can't deny the 10% off on the regularly-priced items.  So, if the register allows it, then it's extra work for them if they want to try to deny you the 10% by ringing up as two separate transactions.

It's fairly ironic that many of us are more familiar with how their POS systems work than even the non-seasonal employees I encounter regularly.  Heard often: "I don't think that will work."  Me: "Try it.  It works."

The other night, I had to stockpile our diaper stock from Babies-R-Us.  The total came to $102 and change.  I had some reward points to consume so I asked the cashier, "rewards come off the pre-tax amount, correct?"  He wasn't sure so he asked another cashier.  She seemed somewhat confident they did and said I should owe tax on the remaining amount.  I told her I wanted to know so I could generate the correct reward on my phone on the spot.  So I made a $95 reward and the total dropped to zero.  She said that was "learned something new and made her day."

I suppose I should go in and work some discount magic.  Mind blown!

Ended up buying Chicago, as I couldn't get the manager to bite on PM plus coupon (plus TRUTH) on Arkham. Manager went so far as to say the 20% coupon was babies only and he shouldn't accept the coupon at all on any items. When I mentioned that it says TRU at the top and the exclusions clearly reference toys that BRU wouldn't carry he sort of bristled and said that it's just printed that way because they're the same company.

I don't hate TRU but man they're making it difficult right now.

You're not going to get PM and coupons. Manager was following the correct policy. Sounds like he was just trying to make other excuses rather than just relying on the PM policy that states it.

I think BA's TRU is an exception.  They treat him like Eddie Murphy in that undercover SNL skit where he's at the news stand and they are offended when he tries to pay.  "What are you doing?  Take it, just take it, it's ok, take it."

While I understand what their policy is, it was suggested to me to try asking if they would honor both since their own website has the lower price (and as noted above, if they key it in as a price adjustment coupons will work). Further, the mgr was called over after the PM and wasn't even aware of what I was tryIng to do. He simply said the coupon wasn't supposed to be valid at TRU, only babies.  And that opinion is news to me, which I thought I wouldd share.
