Alpinemaps
I'm torn, I'd usually hide these posts.I was also torn. I figure it's been awhile so one post as a gentle reminder is fine. I'll be mopping up any additional mess tho.

I bought a Spider-Man bridge battle. Honestly not much excited me there. I thought about the Technic Claas, the heavy lift helicopter, and the Grand hotel. Ended up at the bridge. I just wanted to use the reward on lego before the opportunity passed.

scatttcat
Random question, when you generate reward certificates and use them, what happens if you return that item? Do you receive some reward certificate back? Or an actual gift card ? Thanks!

It is a hassle and some have reported losing the reward cert altogether.

Achilles
These will be very YMMV, but after visiting a couple TRUs today I noticed the following price tags on the shelf: Bionicle Skull Scorpion - 5.98 Ninjago Ronin REX - 8.98 DC Heroes Sky High Battle - 11.98 Disney Princess Pumpkin's Royal Carriage - 1.98 Star Wars Darth Vader Buildable - 14.98 The only set I actually found in stock was 3x of the Vader Buildable. But other folks may be luckier than me.
Loghamel
You didn't buy the Ronin REX? I'd buy 100 at that price. Edit: Durp...I read "The only set I actually 'Bought' was 3x..." Loghamel
I just checked and I don't see a single store showing one of those (Ronin) in stock in the US. So don't feel bad.

Achilles
It defintely didn't USED to say that. Not sure when they added it, haven't bought a LEGO set at TRU in a while. They added the LEGO exclusion to their coupons and I basically haven't shopped there since. Guess we'll need a guinea pig Thursday!
zskid00
Looks like it, but I've not been paying attention to the exclusions lately. TRU will continue to lose more of my business.

waydog
I tried to use my 15% coupon and $25 rewards this past Thursday with 10% credit card on a destiny bounty and was denied with a capital D. I even tried to play the confused dad thing (not a big stretch) and also deployed my secret weapon (sons big doughy sad eyes) and was Denied. Had done this exact same stack in the past with no problem but it looks to be over for me. Instead, used the stack on the Cars 3 Florida Raceway set and got it for $50 instead of $100. Surprisingly this track is huge and awesome! You can race lots of cars at once with good crashes and races to see who the fastest car really is. Jackson storm and Mater surprisingly kick butt. Son has been playing with it everyday and making up all sorts of tournaments. This track could be a huge winner and great collectible/investment but that box is light but huge. Might go get another at target since it's $89.99 this week with that $25 off $100 coupon as a sealed collectible.
Grynn
Another nail might be them not giving rewards for Lego purchases any longer as well. The coffin has been nailed and buried for me since coupons gained the exclusion. Now they are torching it and scattering the ashes...
brickology101
Money can still be made reselling legos from TRU as long as they keep price matching. Once that one goes it all goes. Goodbye...The rest has only been nuisances requiring more time and effort to overcome. Edited October 10, 2017 by brickology101
TheBrickClique
Until sometime in the past year, you couldn't get a TRUTH discount on diapers. With some in-store signage fanfare, they removed that exemption. In their minds, it's probably a fair trade. First time in a while today when I went into a TRU, wanted to spend $50 to get the Batman Bricktober promo, and couldn't find anything worth spending $50 on. But I walked out with $84 worth of diapers that I bought with 6% off gift cards and received a promo $30 gift card.
exciter1
I'm a bit confused as to what TRU thinks it's doing, right before the holiday season, restricting top brands for promotions, all while their balance sheet and reputation are going down the tubes. 4

They're doing everything they can to sink this ship faster, as if they have all the time in the world to address their debt issue. They need to be more aggressive in pushing sales of existing inventory.
