TRU near me FINALLY got in some Slave 1's...on the same day they upped the price by $30 and made the deal not a deal any more.  Come on!

Anybody else notice the price bump on the Slave 1's at TRU?

I have noticed it online. Last week it was $199.99, this week $229.99. :/

In my area, it was priced at $231 even when the online price was $199 at that time. Tried to do price match and use the coupon at the same time but not successful, the cashier can only do either price match or coupon. So lucky me, never actually had that deal at all......

This is a frowned upon strategy . Also Tru imposes a limit on how much refund you can do a year $$ wise .

Sorry guys I did not know this. I was told by a person at TRU that this was possible to do last year.

I have never done this before, didn't know if it was actually possible.

Just curious, why is this strategy frowned upon? Playing devils advocate, please humor me?

I'd point you to the Ethics thread, but I don't want to encourage the behavior in there either.  If you don't see the issue with buying something at a price with the premeditated intention to just return it to a store that doesn't have it in-stock to "try" and get another price/deal because you have it in your hand with or without receipt, then I suggest you sludge through that thread.

Thank you for the suggestion. To be honest, I did not think that this was unethical as an employee of TRU told me back in December that if they were sold out in store I could always order it online and then return it to get the 10% TRU CC on Thursdays. I have not done this before and honestly will consider the ethical dilemma here. I don't believe TRU has a policy in this but I will certainly check if they do. I apologize for not being aware of this policy here on the forums.

Back on topic, what is the average stock count per store on his set? My local TRU had 4 a month or so ago. Haven't seen any recently, but I plan on checkling again this Thursday.

I'm never on mobile like I am now. Are there any 20% coupons available now? I can't seem to find where they're at mobile

Like @exciter1 just said, page 1.  I will always make sure page 1 has it to make it as easy as possible to grab that.

Don't believe it's out of the kindness of my heart though - I'm making it easy for me when I've forgotten to download it to my phone.

Appreciate the coupon, but a question - where does it originate from? An email or app or what? Due to the YMMV factor of TRU, I'd like to know and be able to access and 'talk about' the source - should it be necessary. Thanks.

I believe Bold-Arrow summons it from the depths using the off-topic cleanup bile from Alpine's mop.

Unless your TRU is really different, it won't matter. The 2 times I've been asked I've just said I use a website that makes it scannable from a phone since I lose physical coupons, which is true.

If they don't want to take it, arguing won't help. YMMV by individual, generally.

Of course we all love the ease of just "showing" our phones, but I find my TRU's make fewer frowny faces  when I print out several copies of that coupon.  It seems the cashiers are instructed to take the coupon (any coupon) and put it in the drawer. This makes them happy. Never been asked where I got it.
