TRUTH Tactics : and now the end is here

Also the computer negates the Bricktober promo if you use a price match on any of the items that you're using to get to your $75.

DANG, this is exactly what i was going to try tonight with the Cantina set.  It's only 56.99 online (almost as good as amazon) vs 74.99 in store. I figured i'll just add ANY set to that (probably an ecto or birds with a coupon) and be thrilled to get a Cantina, an ideas set, and a bricktober for something like 89 bucks after gift card discounts.

I've heard someone say before there's a difference between price adjustment and price match. Has anyone tried to get the adjustment to work, vs the match?

I have not, only repeating a rumor for the good of the cause :)

This is pretty much how it's worked for the last 2 years.  Price adjustment is against TRU policy and strictly YMMV (Your Manager May Vary).

Thanks for the clarity. I wasnt sure if adjustment was above board or not. Sounds like Adjustment they reserve for when they mess something up.

Oh well, sounds like coupon'd Ectos and Birds are my main course for bricktober sets. What else are you folks adding to get over $75?

Are you sure the price of bricktober set is $0 on the receipt ? IIRC their POS will not allow you to subtract bricktober set before applying coupon

Here's what I bought in one purchase earlier this week:

Wall-E - $59.99

Bat 40090 x5 - $3.99 each = $19.95

Bricktober Hotel - $0 promo

15% off Wall-E coupon - (9.00)

Total before tax = $70.94

w/ tax = $76.26

I don't know if the system allowed it because the total was $75 after tax or I had them ring up the Bricktober set prior to the coupon.

YMMV... just got back from my TRU and they said "No".  I had an SW Advent Calendar and 7 new Mixels to get my total to $78.  Tried the 20% off coupon, plus $5 off... she tried 2 times, the coupons worked, but the (scanned) Bricktober set would not clear as "free"... my total was about $90 with tax.  She wasn't sure, but could only guess that the total had to be $75 after coupons.  I had to walk away... told them I'd be back tomorrow  :)

$75 after both (20%+$5) coupons BEFORE TAX works no problem. 21108 and 10 monsters + hoetell make low 80s after tax. + GC if you got. will have to be 12 monsters tomorrow...

Darn. I was looking at the Lonely Mountain set. It's 139 in store but $116 online. Or would that matter since the one set is already above $75?

Interesting. I need to see if I can do the same thing

Everything is YMMV at TRU.  They wouldn't let me use 2 coupons for 2 items in the same transaction today.  No stacking in my town.  I had 2 physical coupons, but they made me break them up into 2 transactions.  No biggie, since I was buying 2 Masterpiece Starscreams, but it's better to not tell them how to do their jobs.  Picked up a couple Ecto-1 for the Bricktober set.  Lots of pieces in the Hotel.

Same here on the 2 coupons for 2 items in 1 transaction.  I tried the 20% and 15% and it wouldn't take the 2nd coupon.

I'm not sure if mine would take or not, but they wouldn't entertain trying.  They just said one coupon per transaction.  In this case it really didn't matter, but if I also had a $5 off $25 coupon in hand, they wouldn't have let me use it in addition to a percentage off coupon.

I've been using 2 coupons for 2 items in the same transaction for the last month no problems.  Even today I was able to triple stack 2 coupons (2 items), 10% TRUTH, and Bricktober.  The LEGO set I bought was >$75 MSRP but <$75 after discounts.  They scanned the Bricktober first but I'm not sure if that matters.

I'll buy you a donut if you can get them to do it at my store.

i come to find out that both coupons on page 1 are actually 20% (with card). here is a way to maximize your truth this month:

scan most expensive items first (in this case 49.99 and 44.99),

scan bricktober,

scan card,

scan 20%,

scan 15%(20%),

scan $5/25.

as long as your items are $75+ before tax and coupons, POS will ring BT up free. discounts are applied in different order (see exhibit a), but follow the scanning order above to get the most benefit. rewards and GCs are not taken into consideration.
