Some mug may take the bait ;-) Anything not on LEGO's website or anywhere else is easy money on eBay! I was doing that with 60151 Dragster Transporters when Tesco unboxed 24 of them a little too early (boxes said DO NOT PUT ON SHELF). BTW... No theme... It's the best chess set ever (I hate themed chess) and I'm buying one as soon as I can! Edited December 22, 2016 by TabbyBoy Quote

That's what diehard chess players want and I've waited for a set like this for a very long time. If anybody can get one to my front door in Reading by tomorrow morning, I have £100 waiting - I mean it! We have an annual Chess Tournament in our local pub on Boxing Day and how can I not take this masterpiece with me? If not, I'm going through hell to get to Leicester Square tomorrow afternoon. Quote

I like the mosaic pattern across the sides of the playing case and the brickbuilt builds should make moving the tokens around easier than constantly fiddling with the many prior minifigure incarnations though fun were still sometimes a pain just to move from one square to another not to mention the constant character confusion. (Is that a Bishop or a Rook? A Queen?! I can't remember!) Overall there is a sense of simplicity but it is chess after all plus everything stores into the case rather well. Quote
HandyHand Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Officially released on January 17th, 2017. A non-themed LEGO Chess set, with the included variant of the American Pool-Checkers game: It's got 1450 bricks, and costs $54.99 (US), £45.99 in the UK, and €54,99 / €59,99 (Germany / Netherlands respectively) in Europe. That makes a pretty good price per brick ratio with a nice collection of tiles and interesting/useful bricks as well. And here's a speed build of the set: 6 Quote
