Popular Post dimnico Posted January 12, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2017 Hi guys, just a quick update but a micro build I am very pleased with! I have wanted to build a micro Falcon for sometime now and this actually took a bit longer than I had hoped but I am really happy with the end result. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Its only 4x4 but I have managed to get in all the details that make the Falcon the iconic ship it is. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr The base wasn't part of my original idea but I had the Falcon on a tan plate just as a random support and suddenly thought it would look quite cool if there was a micro Mos Eisley below. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr The colour of the Falcon is white because as a kid to me it was always white, the toys might have got the colours wrong but they just stuck with me! 10 Quote
MrGreedy Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Impressive. Most impressive. Every time I see one of your microbuilds I get inspired to make my own, but they just look like a collection of random bricks stuck together. 1 Quote
Catherine Hallé Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Well done! I had the same impression on the white color. Love it! 1 Quote

I really appreciate such nice feedback. If I can give any advice for what it's worth is I always gather a lot of source material to work off, from lots of different angles, film stills, models, art work etc and also look for similar builds to what you are trying to achieve as it's a good starting point for inspiration. Also have fun! That's the most important thing! When I start a new build I just try all kinds of crazy techniques and brick combinations just for fun to see what I can come up with, sometimes it's a disaster and other times new ideas might come off the back of it! And don't give up, so many of my first attempts at something are a complete mess but I'll sleep on it, come back to the model and have another go! 1 Quote

Even looking at the old Kenner toys it still looks white to me! Some people have said it's either white and just got dirty through space travel or its a very very light gray! Quote
