KMart/Sears - Shop Your Way Rewards and points discussion

Recommended Posts

Anyone know a reliable way of getting out of the issue where KMart/Sears says that you are logged in, but when you look at your cart there is a "Sign In/Join for Free" button where you usually see your available points and coupons "sort of" apply, but then don't seem to be active when you check out?

I tried logout/login which didn't work, nor did an incognito session make any difference.

Unfortunately my account has been this way since November.  I have asked Kmart customer service to look into this and had a ticket open but they have never actually fixed my account.  It's pretty frustrating since I have to chat with Kmart CS any time I want to place an order using points, coupons, and/or offers that have been loaded to my account.

FWIW, I've had some login problem every once in a while (since this new interface they have) but not exactly like yours. Have you tried waiting for a bit and trying again?

What happens to me is that the system knows it's me and shows my points but the login system just not working after I typed in password while going to checkout page. When this happens I tried different browsers, neither went through. I simply leave it be, figuring their system may just have this sort of glitch. Then, I just log back after some time and everything works again.

That's my experience as well, and over time it suddenly works again, but I am curious to hear if anyone has a way to get around this problem more quickly ....

I had the same about half a year ago as well, to the point that I just created a new account and started over fresh. Promptly after I did that, my old account got fixed. So now I have two accounts :). What made it more difficult for me is that I like to have my orders shipped to Sears, which is an option online that the CS staff has no access to - for them items from KMart (which is all LEGO, even if it is sold through Sears) can only be delivered to your house or a KMart store (of which there are none in my immediate area).

Solved it, or at least, figured out that the KMart iOS app works fine even though on Safari iOS I have the same issue with logging in ..... so this must be something on their web authentication end that's blocking proper logins.

What I did last time is when I had problem login to kmart.com, was unable to check-out through kmart.com. But shopyourway.com showed I was logged in. So I log-out on shopyourway.com, re log-in there then refresh on the kmart.com page, it shows me successfully log-in to kmart.com.

It seems to me that somehow kmart, sears and shopyourway are sharing login information, so once login to one of three and refresh the other two it will show as login.

Great suggestion, but didn't work for me. I can log in to all 3 sites fine (KMart.com, SYW.com and Sears.com), but the cart still shows "Sign In or Join for Free" where you typically see your available points. Using the "Sign In" button there is pointless, doesn't change anything after you supply your credentials.

Probably different to what happened to me, the problem I had was after I typed in my account and password and click next it was just hanging there and did not proceed.  Can you try refreshing the cart page once login to shopyourway.com or sears?

Looks like $15 off $75 disappeared from the mobile site as well, that might be why @BrickLegacy was asking :)

Made a discovery (though this might be common knowledge, but who knows) ... I had 2 coupons applied to a cart for the last few days. Coupons expired 4/10 and 4/11 respectively, but because they were already applied to my cart, they still worked today (4/12). So, if you want to extend the life of your coupons, you might want to try adding them to a cart and not removing them/changing the contents of the cart. Worked for me - was saving up Sweeps points to get to the maximum allowable deduction before a $10 back on $20 would no longer work ......

Also the $5 off 35 coupon is conspicuously missing, leaving a lowly $5 off 50.

This has been the MONEY coupon for me with all of the $10/30 in-store promos going on stacked on 50% clearance (~70% disc. after GCs & tax).  I used it 12 times on Tuesday and 10+ times last week.  I'm thankful I was able to use them when I did.

Almost missed this in this mornings SYW email.
Ends 4/16, $50 max.
Of course, I already cashed in all my points >

You can use it to buy a $200 Kmart giftcard on Raise (though not shown in the email, shown when you click the link) and save yourself and extra 5% or so, get the 25% extra points plus the 8% Raise points, and then your normal percentage (based on your VIP status) on purchasing Lego from SYW with the Raise GC...

Lesson learned: Click the link when it says "and more"

Though, is it $50 max per brand, or for this deal? Maybe $100 gift card to buy $100 worth of Lego

The fine print says "Limit one (1) offer per member", so I doubt you can get more than $50 by using multiple brands.

I'm $30 away from platinum vip,, decisions, decisions...I do need TP...

Welcome to Platinum.  The benefits I found going to Platinum was the extra percentage in my birthday month (I'll test that theory May 1) and a warmer reception to my requests for point adjustments (and that might be in my mind).  The downside is a seemingly endless dry patch of good coupon offers.  Oh, and don't forget your extra oil changes :)

$10 back on $40 sitewide offer until the 29th. One per member.

Noticed this this morning. Does anyone know if this is $40 AFTER applying points, or whether you can apply points to bring the price down lower? Since KMart no longer shows active amount of points earned I would love to hear from someone if it potentially works.

I did confirm that if you buy 2 items, the 5% off 1 toy coupon works, and so does the 15% off 1 toy coupon.

Even better, $10 back on $50 coupons stack too ... but $25 back on $60 did not seem to work (as in, the $25 replaced the $10).

Its after applying points for sure. Stacks with most points back coupons and a $ off one. If your lucky, you can get a $ off coupon to stack with a % off a single toy one. I've bought a lot yesterday lol.

If anyone can use them, I have (3) $15 off 75 coupons and (2) $5 off 35 coupons, good through tomorrow (4/16).  PM me.

(2) $5/35's are left.

(1) $5/35 left

I had a lot of Raise/unnamed other app points hit this weekend.  Also stacked a $15/$75 and a 15% off one toy coupon.  It looks like it dumped the $20 back on $60 coupon because I spent $4.17 total on these two.  It looks like I might have another order coming later today :)

Thanks @Phil B for the coup!
