Lego Part 0272

I came across Lego Part 0272 - a old light gray castle-looking piece which is 2x12x12 (I guess) - very odd looking. I will see if I can post a pic, but I cannot find anything online about it.

This is part 30272 Brick, arch 2 x 12 x 6 with grooves.  In sets 8781, 7094, 10176, 6091, 6098.
