Booo! I still have a few of the old Phantom!  But just like the discussion of the AT-AT vs. AT-ACT... I think hardcore fans will want the original, as well as the new one with Adm. Thrawn.  And 269 pcs for $39.99 .. yikes!

I'll pick that up when it's on major sale.  I'm not paying $40 for it.  But Thrawn.  Dude!  It's Thrawn!  And an updated Kanan.

Not happy with the scale of it - it's a bit bigger, and while it does fit on The Ghost, it's scale is a bit out of whack with it.  (Maybe we'll get a larger Ghost in the summer?  Hmmm....)

The lousy pricing is great news.  The last thing we want when trying to sell retired sets for 2 x MSRP is new sets that are $.05 per piece or something.  I'd be thrilled if the new Death Star were MSRP $599.

The design is smooth, functional, with a hint of 'classic' future. However same as everyone else has stated already, the price is rather absurd. I cannot think of any conceivable way to convince myself into buying this at the suggested retail of $40; a difficult time still for $30 if I am honest. It is nice seeing the Speed Champions windscreen used here plus Thrawn's unique blue hairpiece will work great in many MOCs particularly cyberpunk.

I actually think this set is rather beautiful, or at least cute. Of course it looks over priced, but, I think this might do ok.

Also, has anybody noticed that something strange seems to be occurring with availability? It was almost immediately dropped in to back order from S&H, and in the U.K., the only shop that got it was Smyths, in very small quantities. I am wondering if they have pulled this to correct the incorrect printing of Thrawn's rank as per the Hasbro issue. If so, getting an early set could be very advisable.

I'd think that supply hasn't been readily available. These early 2017 sets won't even hit the US market until about March. It's probably too early to speculate. However I would say that it's an excellent time to QFLL these sets, especially to impatient Americans. Either break up the set to sell the minifigures before the price drops or sell on the set unopened.

Yes to the first Q:

(Video jumps directly to the part where Jang discusses this). Here's an image:

I'll post pics of both Ghosts in the Phantom tomorrow. They can actually be made to look decent docked if done the 'correct, way.
