The four I just received at the 50 per cent off sale price have seal codes of 50S6 so obviously returns, 3 in good condition one scratched. That´s a very early production run so either they are returns or it is an awful seller. Edited February 22, 2018 by Val-E

Yes I had to double check but definitely 50S6 ,so my assumption is these were first off the line and first in the warehouse and so being a poor seller had more recently produced sets stored on top or in front of them and accordingly last to leave, not uncommon in stores I previously worked in many moons ago. Saying that I would have thought a large company like Lego Sah would have employed stock rotation systems, but maybe the Warehouse staff have a different story to tell. Val-E
CHAOS rather than LIFO seems to be their method. Perhaps these are just boxes they found during inventory at the back of the shed. Edited February 22, 2018 by Val-E 1

Still too high for this turkey. TLBM sets are only worth it for the parts. I'll buy a couple at £40.

Yeah, I'd rather take a risk singing USA National Anthem during NBA All Stars Game than investing in TLB sets especially in EU region. andyposterfan
I surprised by how despised the TLBM sets are. No one knows how they're going to perform. I dot. See why they're still considered untouchable even at 50%off. I think there's value I there at half of rrp. I can see a sequel film being made and these have some value. woudl I rather have TLBM at half price or Saturn V at full blown Rrp... not much in it I think. Shewie
When I see regular price in poland of the set going for 60% of RPP and the seller is offering 60 boxes for that price that triggers red light for me. Not to mention he has to pay 19% of the tax because he provides receipt plus service fee and free shipping. Nope for me.
Lego Benito
My local Debs has had TLBM sets at 50% off for over a week now. People aren't buying them. That's not a good sign.

grabbitfast
There are two sets in the range worth picking up at 50% off, 70917 is not one of them unfortunately.

You can sell 4 of the figs now for £40ish. If they stay exclusive....

Arkham Asylum and Pinguin Arctic Roller? I think the mini booster set Joker Baloon Escape will do just fine after EOL.

You say that but looking at sold BIN prices on eBay look acceptable for 70917. Buying in at -50% means you can even make a QFLL return. £30 profit on a £70 buy in for a flip looks okay. That's during its current life whilst still freely available. I'm not saying this set is a moneymaker. But there's profit in it already. andyposterfan
Sometimes on BP people seem to jump on a bandwagon and deem something a turd when actually there's some profit in there. I'd rather buy 70917 at half rrp and make a 40% return (£30 profit on an £70 outlay) quickly then buy Saturn V at RRP and have to hold it for a year to make something similar. In that year of waiting you could churn that investment multiple times. just like without nexo. Nearly everyone branded the theme a turd. But when TRU had them at half price one of our BP friends in the UK was flipping those on eBay for RRP and making £40 - £50 profit per set. Jang's review was quite positive and there's a couple of good figs in the set, the theme's a bit overdone but maybe there will be less competition amongst other re-sellers.
