Val-E Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Why do Americans always have to get one winter ahead of themselves? Winter 2017 starts in December 2017 These sets are complete tripe - only the BMW bike and maybe the jet plane seem interesting. A bad 1h usually means a good 2H so fingers crossed. Phil B Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Pretty underwhelming. Even the ship doesn't seem to have too much real Technic functionality, more display than anything else (though I like the B model as I see many go by on the Ohio river during the day). RC Tracked Racer is relatively speaking the best one of the bunch, with 2 M motors and the PF components making up the bulk of the set. Nothing I want to buy so good for my wallet. 3 Quote
Sandwraith Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I don't own a single Technic set, but that Ocean Explorer might finally change that. 1 Quote
lego rules Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 A few new colours for panels and a few new pieces is all I am excited about. I have never really like 1H releases though. 2H releases have been quite good the last couple years so I am sure this year will continue that trend. Quote
Fenix_2k1 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Quite like the auto gyro. Both new technic motorbikes for q1 2017 look poor conpared to the current Street Motorcycle. Quote

That reminds me that this image is not in @pstebbing's original list: 42063-1: BMW R 1200 GS Adventure I like the tires on this set! Edited November 9, 2016 by Phil B Quote

I think my favorite of the bunch is the combined pull back racer semi truck. Kind of "Total Recall" style (original movie). I don't mind the container yard but would it have killed them to put 4 tires on the chassis? Yeesh. The ship will do OK but that little roadwork crew is downright awful. 1 Quote
ISO8T0 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Def adding the R1200 to the collection. First time LEGO has collaborated directly with a moto manufacturer on a technic moto set. Hell I'd love to have an R1200 in my garage. Edited November 9, 2016 by pstebbing Quote
longshot Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Too bad the technique sets dont appreciate any better. You really need to get them at deep discounts. I will pick up the BMW bike though................. Edited November 9, 2016 by longshot Quote
Calli Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I like the BMW bike although I wish they'd do the S 1000 RR instead. Maybe other OEMs will join them in the future. I totally see a market for Harleys, Ducatis and Triumph sets. Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Ship is def on my list , if nothing else but the heli 1 Quote
GiliusThunderhead Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Optimus prime aka container yard actually looks ok although a little small. Quote
Lordoflego Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) I may have easily missed it in recent days, sorry if it was mentioned before, 2017 lego technic sets will include 40th anniversary technic printed brick. Edited November 14, 2016 by Lordoflego Quote

RTRC Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Pretty annoyed that were getting some pull back racers. Certainly interesting to see a Technic ship though. The container yard is pretty neat. It's functional and even adult me wants to play around with the telehandler and load up the truck with those containers. Pretty sweet that we're getting an RC model in 1H. Might not be anything special but I love the crazy design on it. Overall, I'd say this wave is a mixed bag. Quote

Furious_george Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Like that jet. Think I like the b model even betterer. Quote
Fenix_2k1 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) Just a bit confused why they've called it an air race jet. It's clearly based on the F-35, but why would you need all the added weight of a second engine for vtol on a jet meant for racing? Does look smart but the name just doesn't make sense.
