Is that town hall on the sheet cake the baker is carrying outside the bakery?

It looks like the original Café Corner box set. Oh, seems as I was typing this up, Brian Briggs just posted close-ups.

Are they hinting at upcoming rereleases?

Cafe Corner! Horizon Express? Eiffel Tower!

Being an anniversary design, I imagine those mini-builds are simply meant to represent the company's various landmark builds.

It does look delicious but, maybe 5yrs too early to buy >1? ;-)

Of course, it's no reason for the PC or PS to go, LEGO could shock us again as they did with the TH. My gut feeling is that NO modular will retire this year. Even if it did, expect slow growth.

It´s bad news for PS owners regardless as it effectively negates that one´s main advantage of filling a street - the one that was supposed to make us all rich.

That sidewalk looks a bit of a health and safety disaster with all those people on it.

I'd take a stab at £199.99 for the UK and €229.99 for most of Europe. It's huge risk buying a lot I think. Could this be the FIRST modular to retire? ;-)

On the countrary... this is a set that could re-ignite the whole theme.

Lego is smart. After analysing this set I came to the conclusion you have to buy at least two. And that is just to build. Not to invest.

What is the history of anniversary sets? Were they around for long? I have the impression they were not.

Well I was considering burning mine....

I would suggest you'd wait before doing that.

they won´t sell you 4000 parts for that money unless it comes in a Classic box! 249.99 GBP and 279.99/289.99 EUR is more likely.

I read a rumor on reddit that said 399,99 USD / 349,99 Euro... Seems possible

Update: it seems like 239,99 (says so in the cached version of promobricks)

No mention of the Pet Shop or Cinema, eh? Hm. Suspicious this is.
