If the theory is that it won't retire will we see modifications/upgrades?

Not even released yet and talking about retirement? Maybe for now should just enjoy it for what it is, a great looking set which many will enjoy.

Thinking about the rooms in the castle and the wave 1 minifigs, it seems quite straightforward that this building is set to be populated with wave 2 figs.

Why only Ariel in the first wave from all the princesses? Because she is in mermaid form. All the residents are missing. So, be prepared to see Cinderella, Beauty, Beast, Prince Charming, Snow White, human Ariel, Wizard Mickey, Rapunzel, etc. in the new wave.

Quite smart product tying. If you like the figs, you want the castle for them. If you like the castle, you want residents. $$$$$$

A beast. TLG clearly moving to much larger (and pricier) sets this year. Needs to be seen how it will affect the secondary market.

There seem to be a lot more in the $250-$350 range...but they seem to be keeping it there.  I wonder if the new Death Star will be priced at $400.00?

I'm a little shocked to see that the pricing rumor wasn't right.  As long as I can remember, most sets that have been leaked, have been correct on pricing.  It's a nice surprise at $350, but still a bit odd.

Speaking of pricing, I honestly would love to see Lego take a shot at another $500 set.  Sure the MF was a slow seller, but it was a different market for Lego 8 years ago.  I wonder how much better a bigger set like that would do.

From that $50 they could have added the remaining towers so we could have the classic Disney Castle silhouette. I would not mind paying that much extra.

I just saw a pic of Mickey in his wizard suit and wondered if he had multiple torsos?

I think you might be right. It looks like he's in a closet and I saw that hat...

True...but I guess LEGO seems to have figured out that $350.00 is a sweet spot for maximum MSRP.

As in I'm not allowed to post that picture?

No pictures of sets that are still rumored and unconfirmed from LEGO. Unless it is the official release, we don't allow it.

LEGO hasn't officially announced this set yet. But they did issue a number of take down notices on the photos that were leaked yesterday. They didn't have to send one to Brickpicker, because we didn't let anyone post it. :)

People need to realize that we get a very nice email from The LEGO Group's legal team asking us to remove images like the new Cinderella's Castle until they are ready for it to be announced.  It history is any indication of future events, LEGO will be announcing this within the next few days...maybe week tops, once they realize the cat is out of the bag.

Does that mean the leaked picture was real? :)

"Nice," lol.

In other words, we don't want TLG to have any reason to have a beef with us. So please respect that. I don't want my boss getting letters from lawyers. That's never fun.

Ha!

I agree it will bring in a ton of new Lego buyers. I am curious what price it could reach in a xmas shortage scenario.

If it retails for $350 and there is a shortage during the holidays then double down to $700 isn't out of the picture.

Heck ide rather stock up on this then the Technic Porsche for the price.
