curious on how they will deal with retirement of the current wave. I could see BTTF and others going up in value if they truely get retired, but is anyone going to pay premium price for Zane or Chima sets?

I have most of the interesting sets from the first wave, now Im considering doubling up on some to add to my minifigure display. It definately needs a spot for Mr T and Sloth. Sloth might be my new favorite minifigure.

Land before time would be good. Has Lego made a brontosaurus yet?

I would not be surprised to see Cpt. Planet. Or an Oompa Loompa.

Does a 1990 release not count as spilling into the '90s?

I'm sure the promoting of the movies went well into '91.

I'm just giving you a hard time. Since I graduated in 1990, I loath to consider myself a child of the 90s or that I graduated in the 90s.

BttF was over and done with before 1990 finished out. Funny enough I just now learned that Gremlins 2 opened the same day as BttF 3!

Technically the 80s would be 1981-1990. Unfortunately people who don't respect proper year groupings took over and made 2000 the new millennium when it was in fact the last year of the old millennium.

Remember, there was no year zero.

It's 2 different arguments. the millennium has nothing to do with the way that we group real numbers. You can't say that Amazing Spider-Man 90 is really 80 or that $1.00 is really $.99 Any numbering system where you group it by a certain identifier has to have that identifier. 1990 is not a part of a group consisting of items numbered 198X.

And See, I know that you were just doing that tongue in cheek and I went overly pedantic. But, I'm in a weird place mentally at the mo.

Why does that "trailer" post keep jumping to the top of every page? So annoying...

That's not visible on the app...

Well *I* thought it would be useful, lol.

On the app, it works just like the DD thread.  You'll get the top post on every new page.  I'll unsticky it now, since it's been a few days.

It is cool to see the Mission: Impossible pack and I understand why they went with the film series centering around agent Ethan Hunt but still for nostalgia sake (plus it would be neat) if LEGO could have a double pack with the two original agents, Dan Briggs and Jim Phelps. Course that was the late 60s and the rights are under some other company's belt ....then again seeing the 1960s Batmobile officially in LEGO was considered an impossibility at one time so who knows. There was a reboot series in the late 80s too.

Yeah MI TV series was classic, although I am not sure how many video gamers today would catch the reference ;)  I also would argue there were 3 agents (pictured above, except Nimoy) who were the mainstay of the series.

The 80s series was a cool continuation, but I watched it mostly out of brand loyalty :P

So who else on the BP board actually knew what we were talking about?? :D

I imagine they would recognize the theme as anybody else but not the characters or branching story ....like Peter Gunn.

Right. I forgot Briggs had left after the first season, and mainly mentioned the two agents since I haven't seen a Dimensions pack to include three minifigures outside of the large portal starter set. Sad to think almost each actor from the series has passed.

There seems to be a fairly hip crowd here if all the other mildly off topic conversations have proven anything. Ha.
