According to this Lego Ideas blog entry, the approved Lego Ideas Adventure Time set is nearly complete!  Here's a quick glance at the set:

The set will be number 21308, and include 495 bricks with an MSRP of $49.99.

Per the blog entry, seven brick built characters will be included in the set: Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Marceline, BMO, Gunter and Ice King.  Compare this to the originally approved Ideas entry:

Even though there are fewer characters, the ones in the approved set appear to be slightly more detailed than the original entry.

This new set is much different than the Lego Dimensions packs that are set to be released with Dimensions' second series.  They include Adventure Time minifigures and micro-builds, all shown here:

It looks like a lot of Lego Adventure Time is coming your way in the near future.  What are your thoughts on the new theme?  Be sure to comment below.

Lol at the surprised reactions since the final product actually looks better than the ideas submission :D

However, for $50 MSRP I expected something more than just a collection of 5 polybags :P  The MSRP should have been $35 or lower :P

I don't know the Cartoon Network series this set is based on. I have no sentimental feelings about this set. And I have no reason whatsoever to buy this set. Not for personal build, nor for investment reasons.

I don't know how this set made it to the Ideas line, but it is disappointing. I have no reason to purchase it.

I don't like it either, but 10k people did say they wanted at least one. I have no clue what Adventure Time even is (but I see delicious sandgreen bricks and tiles in one of the figs), however, LEGO is not stupid. Perhaps they make this a fairly limited batch, and perhaps that will make it exclusive enough for those over here who choose to invest in a few copies to make money on it. Again, "perhaps".

Or perhaps it becomes TBBT and sits on shelves for a long time. Though at least I know TBBT :)

First thing I thought about is you @Phil B,  it will be discounted that at least you will make some money brick by brick on BL lol, I also never said I won't buy it, damn, I'll invest in crap if it's profitable...

I get why.  Big push from AT fans.  And an easy license to acquire.  Now will it translate into sales?  I have no idea.

I'm a big Doctor Who fan, so it was easy to gauge how popular that Ideas set was.  I'm into AT, so I have no idea how excited that fandom is.  I guess a look at the AT subreddit might be a good place to start.

So I just checked the Adventure Time subreddit.  There are 150,000 subscribers.  It's not really good news.  There's only one post in the top 25 regarding the set.  It has 4 upvotes in 7 hours.  And the comments...well, here are the three comments that have been posted:
