bricketycricket
I want some big pirate sets to make up for not having any as a child despite thinking they were awesome. Unfortunately pirates and castle are very run-of-the-mill these days, so the only one I could envision purchasing would be the ship and only if it was significantly discounted. I wish they'd bring back the big ships, the fortresses, enchanted islands, etc. but I guess kids just aren't as into these themes nowadays. Migration
I wanted to like this line, especially the ship. It just doesn't do anything for me.

inversion
I am not the one who tends to complain about price, but that ship is waaaay overpriced. Even the LotR ship was cheaper, with much more minifigs and license. In the end LEGO will say sales did not turn out as expected so they are ending the line. Cross
What I don't get is that, with the clear popularity of EVERY well-done ship TLG has done, they don't make them more grand and in more variations. And more frequently, as well. The Black Pearl/Queen Anne's Revenge/Imperial Flagship was the right direction for Lego ships... this isn't. We'll see how it all plays out, I suppose. biniou
In Hungary it was cheaper in Forints Ha, right, it was 33990 Ft and this ship is 35990 Ft.............. Sorry for that. This set #70413 has one of the (or maybe just "the" ?) most expensive price in europe (=
banshee3
I was disappointed to see the 119$CAD price point on the boat. I'll buy one for collection but for investment it'll have to go on sale.

Not just 20%, either. In its first year of release I wouldn't bite at less than 35%+ off.
lobo1969
Just had a thought (ouch)...why didn't they use the hard technic sails from Metalbeard's Sea Cow on these new ships? This line is a disappointment! P.S. nice article on the history here: http://brickset.com/article/14024 Thanks, enjoyed the history link! brickelements
I do hope the appeal to AFOL's with a larger Imperial Flagship type of vessel. I will keep building my own until they release the next verison.

I would add 2-3 more spacemen and a space-robot to man the ship and make it look unique, but my brain is wired weird like that :)

They managed to fight off the BB from that blue row boat just fine I would not mind seeing a LEGO Man of War
TheOrcKing
I like the redesigned bandana and the variety in the pirates' torsos with print. Well anyone who missed the Revolutionary Soldier has another chance at acquiring that wig from The Brick Bounty.

biniou
The Treasure Island confirms my first thought: it's a really nice small set to play, display and maybe invest.
MartinP
Why ? They managed to fight off the BB from that blue row boat just fine You don't need a big ship to fight odd the BB. All you need is a couple of rowboats and some well trained soldiers. Then the soldiers can claim the BB for themselves.

banshee3
We took the kids up to LDC in Toronto today; Noticed that they had all of the new Pirates line in the shop on the way out. You have to understand it took every fibre of my being to not grab a copy of every set to take home; however I don't think my wife would have let me get into the car for the trip home if I had. Looks like I'm going to have to buy one at a time over time.
