Alpinemaps
Police arrest Colorado man in $14K Star Wars Lego fraud case Quote Cañon City police on Sunday arrested a man suspected of bilking about $14,000 from several victims in an international Star Wars Lego scheme. William Murray, 49, is accused of computer crimes, theft and fraud in the case, investigators say. "Murray was advertising Star Wars Lego sets on various webpages for a range of amounts," police said in a Monday news release. "Murray would request the victim send the money prior to him sending the Lego set. Upon receiving the money, Murray would stop any communication." Police say his victims, who lived throughout the United States and beyond, never received their Legos. Source: Denver Post

Fenix_2k1
There has been a seller in the past month on UK eBay trying to scam Lego Star Wars collectors luckily his rating has been completely trashed when people realised what he was doing. He was advertising sets like Kylo Ren Shuttle for £55 BIN with several in stock. You pay your money through PayPal,he cancels your order without explanation, refunds your money via PayPal then cancels the refund. Making it look to eBay like he's completed his duties and if you're not paying attention to your PayPal balance and have a lot of transactions going through you might not realise the refund has been cancelled. Luckily eBay have stepped in and refunded money but I imagine they'll be going after him given he's done it to quite a few people who eBay will need to reimburse.
